Retirement speech for colleague Introduction “Retirement is the beginning of life - not the end!” and so the pleasure is mine to present the retirement address tonight to one of my dearest colleague and friend Billy. Billy is the epitome of who an extraordinary employee ought to be, but before I get started, let me first introduce to you to our honored guest’s family. To the right of Billy is his lovely wife Brenda and to his left is their daughter Betty-ann. Let’s give them a warm welcome. Reflection As the company grew increasingly in possibility and excellence, so did Billy. He began as a junior in the outer offices and he worked his way up to Senior Accounts Manager. Like mine, his belly grew in size with each promotion too. Billy will be remembered for his persistence, his high-spirited and happy go lucky style both on and off the job, Billy was able to accomplish what others only hoped to accomplish. He was serious about our business. The length of Billy’s client list highlights this fact. Acknowledgment Even so, we would all like to thank Billy for the time and dedication he has spent over these past 20 years. Without him, we could have never gotten to where we are today. He helped set the very foundations of this company and to get us to the top. His levels of organization and time management helped put us on track to a new tomorrow and for that, Billy, we could never repay you. Billy, I hope that you will come visit us often and lift our spirits with your presence. Hard work; common sense, and stick-to-itiveness .Billy embodied these words in everything he did for the company, and for the customers he served throughout the twenty years he has been with us.
