People need to take risk to achieve things on their own merit, but there are people who should support them but will discourage them from taking risks because of perceived perceptions of the persons limitations. Risk taking can have benefits for the individual as it will enable them to do things most people take for granted. 1.3) Sometimes we all have to take risks to get what we really want. Time management is very important in all aspects of life. If you do not have positive in this area, you will fail to accomplish specific goals, and benchmarks. Again, you must hold yourself accountable to be disciplined enough to manage your time wisely. The consideration and respect you show others is a big aspect of this area. People typically demand respect before giving it.
Barriers come in many forms, such as when key persons are doing observations and planning. The parents may lack in confidence to give any suggestions or feel that their contribution isn’t worth making at all; they may also not want to get involved in this. However practitioner should let the parents of the child take charge on the suggestion making, instead of the practitioners taking charge. If you don't have any values or respect then the people at the work place won't respect you at all causing you or any person to feel uncomfortable and work won't get done because there is no confidence. My values, beliefs system and experiences could have an impact on the work I am doing with residents if I do not Have an awareness of my own values etc. This may be because we find it difficult to accept other people values and beliefs, we might feel that are the right ones and paths they have chosen are the ways to successful rehabilitation. 5. In a similar case a person with very little capacity wants to make the same choice but they are unable to understand the consequences of that decision and are likely to become very upset if they are unable to go out or have their favourite foods. It may be in their best interest to not make the purchase. Sometimes our duty of care can conflict with the rights of an individual. An example of this could be where an individual has disclosed information to us that they may have been subject to abuse but they do not wish us to pass on this information. It would be our duty of care to that person to report the incident to the appropriate person.
