Introduction of the Organization I work at Parkland Health & Hospital System that has a rich history since its beginnings. First opened its doors in 1894, and is now one of the largest public hospital systems in the country, licensed for 861 adult patient beds and 107 neonatal patient beds and more than 10,000 employees. The hospital averages more than 1 million patient visits annually. Services include a Level I Trauma Center, the second largest civilian burn center in the U.S. and a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The system also includes 20 community-based clinics, 12 school-based clinics and numerous outreach and education programs.

Success For The CENA Working with the sick, the disabled, or the helpless is both an emotional and physical job to take on. One of the most important jobs in a care team would have to be the CENA (certified and evaluated nurse assistant). They are the paraprofessionals who are the right hand to a licensed nurse or other health care professional. They provide the primary care for those who are unable to care for themselves. The tasks given can be responsible for major wear and tear on both the mind and body.

Since then this sector of the health care industry has rapidly expanded to approximately 10,000 centers. They also establish a plan of care for patients or they add to an existing one then they put the plan into action. RNs also manage and assign tasks to licensed practical nurses and nursing assistants.
