The Occupy Wall Street Movement The United States of America are undergoing through many issues such as job losses, stock market, speculation, and housing crisis due to the economic crisis we all are going through. Involve in this issue is the Wall Street protestors who are very angry about the capitalist economic system in crisis. The Wall street protestors are angry because of the inequality in this country has hit a level that has been seen only once in the nation’s history, and unemployment has reached a level that has been seen only once since the Great Depression. “The occupy started when the Canadian anti-consumerist magazine Adbusters calls for an occupation starting September 17 where 20,000 people flood into lower Manhattan, set up tents, kitchens, peaceful\ barricades and occupy Wall Street for a few months." In a September 27 Vancouver Courier article, Adbusters senior editor Micah White is quoted as saying that after floating the original concept on their website and to their E-mail list, the idea of the occupation was spontaneously taken up by independent activists.The main issues of protesting are social and economic inequality, greed, corruption and the undue influence of corporations on government particularly from the financial services sector. Also, they are protesting because of lack of opportunity, a jobs market that's not working for everyone, too much student debt, and kind of they feel like they've been sold a bill of goods that they've taken out all this student debt for a place in an economy that's not giving them a job that's going to help them pay off all that student debt. They are protesting business as usual in Washington and business as usual on Wall Street, both of those two big institutions, two big power structures in America that they think have conspired to make the wealthy wealthier and not to serve the middle class and poor people. I feel the movement is effective because more and more people are joining the movement which will make them one big strong unit which will make some awareness out to the world. I do so sympathize with the Occupy Wall Street movement because it is not just a few people suffering because of the crisis but more like 99 percent of us are. I think It plays a crucial roles in many people’s life because as we are facing, the economy is in a bad state where a lot of us are losing our jobs and cause of that a lot of us are not being able to pay up our daily expenses. Not just unemployment but also the housing crisis were a lot of people are not being able to pay the rent or mortgage. It is sad how the poor are getting poor and the middle class are barely holding on to their class and how the rich keep getting richer. I feel that inequality is increasing between the rich and poor and I feel that should not be happening so it is a good thing that the Occupy Wall Movement has taken a step toward it. The Movement has spread throughout the world because of how it supports the majority 99% person of people that are living in United States. I feel that it has spread more because of how the crisis have increased a lot which has become a major problem and the movement has about 20,000 person in support which is a good amount of number to make a
