Denny’s is a full service family restaurant chain which is operated over 1,500 restaurants in world. It is known for being open around the clock and selling breakfast, lunch, dinner and desert at all times. Founded by Harold Butler in 1953 they soon expanded to 20 restaurants by 1959 when the restaurant was renamed to Denny’s. During the early 1990s, Denny's was involved in a series of discrimination lawsuits involving several cases of servers denying or providing inferior service to racial minorities, especially black customers. In this paper I will discuss a major class-action lawsuit that occurred.
