Religious/Non-Religious Reasons for Belief In The Afterlife Belief in the afterlife has spread across many centuries and has played on human’s minds since time began. No matter what religion you are there is an in-definite theme of what will happen to you after your death. Many religions use belief in life after death as the core of their beliefs i.e. in Christianity you are taught that if you live a good life, you will be rewarded by going to heaven after your soul leaves your physical body. No matter what religion you are part of, many people have a strong belief that this isn’t the only life we will lead, and this is only the beginning. Christians believe in heaven but strongly disagree in reincarnation. Many people’s opinions have been swayed by countless unexplainable occurrences. Reincarnation is the belief of that when you die, you will be reborn with a clear memory. Sometimes this may go wrong, leaving you with the sense that you have lead another life previously, in the back of your mind. Of people who believe that they have lead previous lives discover when they are younger because their brains haven’t undergone as much social training as an adult. An un-explainable case of this was from a boy named James. The 4 year old believe that he was a fighter pilot that got shot down by the Japanese. He was able to say where, when, who was there and the plane that he flew. All these facts matched records and a man also named James was this pilot that got shot down. Most amazingly, young James could digress to say who was part of the squadron young/old James flew in. His devoted Christian parents were astonished by their young boy and their view on reincarnation changed. Another non-religious reason for belief in the afterlife is ghosts and paranormal activity.
