Physical health refers to the state of the physical body, this includes the efficient functioning of body organs, our level of fitness, nutritional status, degree of energy body weight and resistance to disease. Good physical health is described as being fit, having a healthy weight, have good nutritional status and being free of disease and sickness. But some adults, for example disabled people or older people, are often discouraged from taking risks. Traditionally they are not encouraged to take risks in areas such as budgeting, planning, employment and daily living skills. This may be either because of their perceived limitations or fear that they or others might be harmed. Everyone has a right to take risks and make decisions about their lives. There is a balance to be found between service user’s participation in everyday activities and your duty of care.

Social health: Social health is my ability to form and maintain interpersonal relationships with my friends and family. My ability to act appropriately in social situations and interactions with others. Intellectual health: Intellectual health is what helps me make the right decisions.

Health and well-being can be described as the achievement and maintenance of physical fitness and mental stability. This is a positive definition of health and well-being. A positive definition of health: A positive concept towards health and illness could be defined as believing that being healthy is a state which is achieved through continual effort. People with this approach believe that by taking regular exercise and looking after their bodies will keep them well. Generally people with a positive approach to health believe that they are responsible for their own health.

The most immediately distinctive features of play are the freedom it expresses and the agreements and cooperation among playmates. Play stops when participants are not free to play or not, become objects of play, or are unaware that they are involved in play. War, violent crime, and practical jokes may be play for the perpetrators, but it certainly is not for the victims.

Personal Health Assessment Julie Reid SCI/100 11/10/2011 James Stegge Ardell (2011) defines wellness as, “a mind set, a predisposition to adopt a series of key principles in varied life area that lead to high levels of wellbeing and life satisfaction.” A wellness mind set will protect you against temptations to blame others, avoid accountability, or make excuses when facing diversity. Wellness contains six dimensions of health; occupational, physical, social, intellectual, spiritual and emotional. The purpose of this paper is to identify three of the six dimensions of health that are my strongest and one that is my personal weakness and practices that I can incorporate to improve on my personal health. My strongest dimension of health is occupational. The occupational dimension recognizes personal satisfaction in your life through your work.
The disabilities act was established to help facilitate the disabled and their needs to maintain in society. There are people, who are truly disabled in this world, but they go about their day like any other person, some look at this as a noble act but at times this plays as a disadvantage. Then sometimes I run into people that may exaggerate their condition and take advantage of some of the resources that are not a necessity (like the pregnant or someone with a broken leg). The resources given to the disabled need to truly be used for the disabled and not for the rest of society, but this does not give the disabled the power to abuse these resources or act like they are above the rest of society. Every year companies and states officials spend thousands if not millions to accommodate the disabled.
