As a junior in high school, I am approaching some very big life decisions fast. Now is the time in my life where I am expected to start narrowing down career choices and looking into the right schools that fit my choice. I have decided that working as an OBGYN is a major possibility because of my fascination in the medical field and the mentorship I am involved in at Augusta health. After looking into this career more this year, I have discovered so many accounting factors. However, reaching the title of an OBGYN takes time, money and love for the career which is the reasoning behind this paper.
Why I Think I Should Be in the 2011 NJHS I believe I should be considered for Lake Pleasant’s National Junior Honors Society because I am a determined student, who loves to do her absolute best. In my essay I have provided several reasons why I think I should be in NJHS. My first reason for being accepted into the national juniors honor society is that I love to exceed in my schoolwork and I am ambitious. For example I have made Honor roll almost every quarter this year. This upcoming school year I plan to receive honor roll for all quarters and earn A’s in all of my classes.

Registered Nurse Do you remember being a child and constantly being asked “What do you want to be when you grow up?” Well I was the kid that always gave a different answer every time. I was always undecided regarding the career that I wanted to pursue. As I got older I realized that I wanted to have a career in the medical field. Being a nurse interests me because it requires the study of the human body, it is respected and because I find fulfillment in being able to help those who are in need. Once I started researching a career in nursing I realized that there were a lot more types of nurses then I had originally imagined.
Most Associate degree nurse will continue to work at the bedside during their career as a nurse. A Bachelor degree nurse is an advanced degree and also allows for the nurse to work at the bedside but also allows the nurse to work in a much broader field in nursing. More education prepares a nurse many more options during their career. A Bachelor’s degree nurse can move to managerial positions that allow the nurse to supervise the entire wing of a hospital as a Director of Nursing for example. During nursing school the instructors always tell the students someday it may be a requirement for nurses to hold a bachelor’s degree to maintain a Registered Nurse position.
Throughout the school year I had to prepare for many midterms and finals. There were times when it was very difficult to focus just because of the environment alone. There were days when it was more of a challenge but, the despite the distraction I have managed a 3.0 grade point average. I strongly feel that your program will best prepare and teach me the necessary need to become a valuable contributor to the health profession. I visited the campus and staff that have done a great job by answering and helping with my questions.
In doing so, nurses must be care-givers and educators - providing the necessary information, skills and knowledge, to their patients to allow for self-nurturance, well-being, and growth. I started my journey in the field of nursing two years ago. My personal values, combined with the strong desire to help others influenced me to enroll in the Licensed Practical Nurse program. This career path has provided such great opportunities to help others, and has allowed for my own personal growth. I am continuously looking for new and great ideas to better the field of nursing and the ultimate goal of helping those in need.
Personal Goals Paper Aida Motta HCS-301 December 9,2013 Karen Benjamin Nursing is a career that can take you anywhere. It has always been my dream to help others in the healthcare setting. My passion in the medical field is fueled by a constant desire to learn all facets of nursing. Even though everyone has different goals, a higher education creates more opportunity to specialize in a specific area. Education is continuous in nursing.
My goal for my future is to become a nurse anesthetist. I chose this profession because I have had a lot of experience in hospitals between the both of my parents’ several admissions into the hospital. I like the fast paced environment in a hospital and the fact that I can help someone excites me. It is my personality to want to help someone but I am not the kind of person that would want to perform surgery, but I do like jobs that put me under pressure. The profession of nurse anesthetist, to me, is the perfect balance between my likes and dislikes.
The challenge of entering into a vigorous program such as DNP will allow me to continue to enhance my skills and help me reach my career goal as an APN. I have what it takes to succeed based on my nursing and critical care experience. I want to continue to grow in nursing profession where there is learning, growing and giving back. During my time as a nurse, I have learned a lot about my strengths, grown professionally, and acquired a strong interest in special needs and emergency management. This particular focus, as well as the balanced theoretical, practical and academic nature of the DNP program is especially attractive to me, given my range of experience and interests.
