DEVELOPING TEACHER’S PROFICIENCY THROUGH REFLECTIVE TEACHING ABSTRACT Not all teachers are good teachers, they just try to be better and better. Good teachers are always learning–learning from students, learning from their own trial and error, learning from peers and colleagues, learning from mentors and supervisors, and learning from academic information in their field. A Good teacher continues to learn throughout their careers. Even though they don’t realize it. Their learning practice is the result of careful reflection. They themselves learn lessons each time they teach, evaluating what they do and use these self-critical evaluations to adjust what they do next time. Evaluations in teaching is very crucial to improve our teaching and the impact is the achievement of our students. However, most of researches focus on the developing student’s competency. Not like other research, this research discusses the way the teachers maintain their teaching proficiency by doing reflective teaching. The writer collect the data by interviewing some teachers about their proficiency maintanance. How they evaluate their teaching by reflecting themselves in the class. Thinking what to do, how to do it, did it work and what to do next to apply the approach of teaching and.
