I was twenty two years old when I applied for the assistant teacher position and I didn't think that I would like it because I knew that I would have to work with the babies (1 ½-2 years) instead of the older children (3-4 years). Working with the babies requires a lot more tedious work and patience for example the teachers have to constantly change diapers and not all the babies are able to talk or communicate well. My supervisor is very understanding when it comes to school and attending class for example, on the days that I have school my supervisor would allow me to come in early so that I'm able to leave early and get to school as well as not lose any working hours. Furthermore, I love my flexible schedule because I was able to go on a lot of vacations and enjoy my summer. My mother and I were able to go to Orlando, Florida for a whole week and I received vacation pay while I was gone. This job has helped me build relationships on a personal and professional level. Being given the opportunity to work at Appletree has been a pleasure one of the reasons being, that my boss takes really good care of all her employees by providing benefits and paid vacation. In the future when I have my own daycare, I will take everything that I have learned and make sure that I apply it to everything that I do in my own daycare. I will also make sure that I take really good care of my employees to make sure that they feel appreciated so they will stay around longer. Most daycare’s have a huge turnover rate because the employees don't feel appreciated and feel like they are being under-paid for the work that they provide which is another reason why Appletree is not a typical daycare because their employees get treated so
