Michael Gomez 11/28/11 In the short story, “A Sound of Thunder” by Ray Bradbury, the setting takes place in a time traveling company where people are given the opportunity to go back in time to the era of the dinosaurs and be able to kill one. Eckels and a few others take the opportunity and decide to go back in time and kill a tyrannosaurs rex. The usage of foreshadowing brings out the conflict where Travis (Group leader) kills Eckels. The constant threats said by Travis directed to Eckels, brings suspicion in the audience if he kills Eckels or not. Eckels as an hunter, is motivated to go back in time, not only be able to see one in his own eyes, but kill a T-rex.
His intelligence was the reason for victory in the Trojan War, tricking the Cyclops and getting revenge from the suitors During the Trojan War, Odysseus ordered for a wooden horse to be built so soldiers can hide inside of it. Him and his men hid inside and ended up attacking the people in Troy which gave them victory. This shows that Odysseus’s cunning is a virtue because without him the Greeks wouldn’t have won the Trojan War. Now onto tricking the Cyclops, Odysseus and his men came upon a cave with food not knowing it was the Cyclops. Odysseus knew he couldn’t physically defeat the Cyclops so he used his intelligence to defeat him.
Swenson's remote research station in the jungle, leaving her with some serious chinks in her techno-scientific armor. This is a particular problem because the Brazil of "State of Wonder" is a perilous and threatening place. Patchett's South American jungle is bursting with creepy-crawly people and insects, all of which pose a potentially lethal threat to the novel's civilized scientific wayfarers. Swarms of bodies cycle anonymously through the novel and around Marina as her personal voyage unfolds. Dense clouds of insects clamor for blood, and armies of natives mass around the fluorescent lights of a storefront in a frenzy to get inside, or the lonely beam of a flashlight in the jungle.

Another approach that Poe showed the readers that the story is foreshadowing Fortunato’s death is the use of the title itself. The title has the word “cask” in it which suggests a casket (Freehafer). This even further suggests that the Amontillado may actually be a barrel ground that the Montresors’ family has used for ages. Finally, the Montresors’ family crest is a form of foreshadowing within this story. Montresor states that his family crest is, “A huge human foot d’or, in a field azure; the foot crushes a serpent rampant whose fangs are imbedded in the heel” (Poe 192), which the readers can see that this is foreshadowing in that Fortunato would be the heel that gets bit and that Montresor would be the serpent who will eventually bite him or in reality murders him
The Mars One Project (MOP) is a global non-profit organization that plans to send four individuals to land and live on Mars in 2023. However, the mission will not be easy and executing it successfully will require much mental, physical, and technological training. With that being said, many questions and explanations are needed about the plan's mission, finance, feasibility, reasoning, preparation, and technology. The Mar's One Project's reason to go to Mars is fairly straightforward. Sending people to live on Mars is another giant leap for mankind's history and progression.
