From completing the Career Interests Profiler and the Career Plan Building Activity: Competencies I was able to learn the strengths and weaknesses of my competencies but did not expect the results I received from the career interest profiler. Now that I know where my strengths and weaknesses in competencies are and I also know which areas I need to work on to improve. My results show that I am fairly level loaded with my strengths being delivering results, organizing, following instructions, goal focus, and coping with pressure however they are not as strong as I would like them to be. All of these competencies are needed to pursue my career goal of becoming the Operations and Supply Chain Manager within my company. Researching was rated a little lower than the others so now I know that I need to focus on making improvements in this area.

As I stated in the previous question I already knew that I adapted well, so that just reinforced what I already knew about myself. My other strength is following directions.
How do we become knowledge workers within our own organizations? Hammer (2004) suggests that we are entering an age where we will all be knowledge workers. I find some truth in that because we are always learning from our peers, our employees, and our supervisors. But it is necessary for us to know where that newfound knowledge comes from by finding its source. I am the type of person who wants to know everything and be the best at every task I perform, and doing the necessary work to identify the appropriate source of information will make that task just a bit easier.

Further, he sometimes does not adequately recognize or give credit to people for the results of work he has delegated. I tried college right after high school but dropped out because I felt like I was wasting time and money. I told myself that when I decided what to major in I would go back and get my degree. I have been working as the office manager of a long term care facility and realized that my career path has reached its max potential with out a degree. My experience working with the accounts receivable and accounts payable and monitoring the financial process of a business has awakened my desire for more out of my career. At this point in my life I would love to move into the corporate level but need the college degree to do so.
