One account mentioned a dead human arm, which stuck out of the trench wall, and all the soldiers shook the hand as they walked by. Another disillusionment factor was that the soldiers had to share their living space with rats and lice. Rats were said to get as big as cats and lice were ludicrously out of hand. Most likely the worst part of the trenches was the occasional assault of various toxic gases. These gases tortured its victims for anywhere from 48 hours to a full 5 weeks before killing them.
The Black Death The Black Death, also known as the Bubonic Plague, was one of the biggest tragedies in England’s history. Wiping out one third of the population, it swept through the country every spring. People awaited the terrible Black Death in extreme fear. Everyone wondered where this horrible disease was coming from and why it had happened to them. Why almost everyone they loved was getting swept away by the traitorous disease.
I've saw plenty of dead bodies floating in the disgusting toxic water, as we walked through the water to get to higher ground. We saw trees on top of the street wires, cars fill with water up to their roof tops, and watched people fight over food to survive, and my town was like a ghost town. I heard about elderly people dying in attics and hospitals believing that the world didn’t care as they slowly ran out of medication and oxygen. I saw sick babies and paraplegic living for five days outside in the hot weather, while gangs of armed youth’s violently terrorized filthy camps of society's most suffered and abandoned. These affected people were placed in the massive outdoors that was so
Effects of The Black Death The biggest, most disastrous epidemic to ever affect Europe, and the world, the Black Plague, is also commonly referred to as the “Black Death”. The Black Death was an epidemic that killed an estimated 75 million people worldwide (Wikipedia). The Black Death lasted from 1347 to 1352 (Kishlansky 295), and had a lasting affect on the world. One-third to one-half of Europe’s population died from this epidemic (Kishlansky 295). People lived in fear of this disease that it would affect them and moved on with life with their saying of “live for the moment” (Wikipedia).
Our Creator became sad, because there was so much crime, dishonesty, injustice and war. "So Creator sent a Peacemaker with a message to be righteous and just, and make a good future for our children seven generations to come. He called all warring people together and told them as long as there was killing there would be no peace of mind. There must be a concerted effort by humans for peace to prevail. Through logic, reasoning and spiritual means, he inspired the warriors to bury their weapons and planted atop a sacred Tree of Peace."
His book The Reform of Medicine, states: “Plague-stricken patients hang around their necks toads, either dead or alive, whose venom should within a few days drew out either the poison or the disease.” Spiritual remedies were so common and primary in the fifteenth to eighteenth century. Anything that had to do with God they believed might work. M. Betrand, a physician, strongly believed that it was an angry God over a sinful people. People in that time period didn’t believe strongly in natural causes, so they blamed themselves for being
Cleveland, OH has been exposed to a variety of dangerous synthetic drugs that are currently legal. After leaving over 5,000 people injured from the substance, these synthetic drugs need to be banned and taken off store shelves immediately. K2 was created at a college university because researchers and scientist wanted to try new ways to use therapeutic drugs. It was only a matter of time before the substance would be used for inappropriate use by the public. The scientists knew that this new invention would eventually
The plague was so severe that it affected almost the whole sectors of life; including economic sectors, personal lives of people, and various others. The Black Death’s most severe affect was on the population. The population of Europe was deeply affected by it as there was no cure for such a disease. The reason the plague spread so wildly was because of the fleas and rats that carried it from one place to another in their skin. Within five years of the arrival of the disease, Europe saw 25 million people die.
Many teachers, peers and even parents don’t realize just how many of the people around them suffer for this disease. In the book Dave says, “Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold left warnings all around them...they recorded their vitriol on film while manipulating every adult who could have stopped them.” The fact that the two students left warnings yet no one saw them is a very scary thing. This was Dave’s message exactly, not just our country but also the entire world needs to be more cautious about the lives and feelings of those around
There are people to blame for my cities downfall. Due to all the stealing that was going on in council has caused a large deficit. In recent years this has been the cause of the depressing state my city is in. its ruined state of minds so bad to the point we don’t believe in ourselves as much. Also the lack of teacher & student relations has even ruined my generation we feel as though there’s no one to fight for us.
