The writer supported the public expression that recycling the unnecessary food is a practical way to reduce the solid waste. I read the news today which published that around 70% of Hong Kong people had habits to leave leftovers at home or in restaurants after meal. So, the Hong Kong government can foster the recycling plans with several relief and attractive measures. On mid-April, I read a survey from chinese paper which posted the consumer council conducted an undercover check to the shops selling frozen food in Hong Kong and found of 19 stores were selling food past the expiration date. The Centre for Food Saftey was pointed a lack of law enforcement and urged step-up prosecutions to deter the outrageous shops. Then writer think that recycle of the past food is able to solve the mentioned problem to a certain extent . Why should we recycle the useful waste? First of all, the waste filling lands are not adequate to fufill huge amount of refuse under limited land resources available. The present filling lands were expected to be full before 2020 and did not satisify our improved living standard and brilliant development of tourists industires which both deteroiate the worsen situation. Together with lack of supportive facilities like incinerators and other processed equipments as well as assiocated methods such as waste sorting, more and more rubbish accumulated and affected the city's environment. The assistance to recycling industries for passing the waste to farming and to particular society for helping the people in dire need is inevitable. Many restaurants and hotels prepare execessive dishes to get better feeling on the table due to business image. However, those commerial and industrial businesses occupied in large proportion on waste production.
