In some cities they had to actually post arm guards on garbage trucks, people were scavenging for food, people would swamp the garbage truck when they would dump the garbage at the dumps. Production was down particularly of wheat, but there was enough out there but the only problem is transportation and storage system. They were dumping milk in the street as a protest, we didn’t have the system to transport milk from for example Wisconsin to Boston, it couldn’t be done so there are people that are starving in Boston because you couldn’t get the food to them. This is really a crisis and the country knows, Roosevelt knows, if you don’t fix this soon the public will put in dictatorship either on the right or the left. Dictators are very efficient they get things done on time.
Company Q eventually listened and brought in a limited selection of products, but the customers found them to be to expensive to purchase. Knowing the economic status of the neighborhood their store was in, the customers did not feel that Company Q was being fair to them by supplying such high-margin items. Company Q’s was not socially responsible when they chose to allow their day-old food items to be thrown away instead of being donated to the local area food bank. They chose to show their distrust in their own employees, stating the possibility of the products to be stolen by their employees. Employees need to feel trusted and a valuable asset to the local grocery store chain.
I am not the only person who gets disrespected at your establishment. A customer states, “the store on the boulevard has rude people I went in their tonight I ordered and there is a sign on the counter that states free cheesy bread if they fail to offer it I asked her for my cheesy bread she got really rude n told me no that’s false advertisement.” I think your establishment should hire more professional employees because many people are being disrespected. Being a fine foods store that specializes in foods that do not use any type of preservatives there will always be a problem with waste. To help curb this problem I propose implementing a system that allows Kathy to forecast sales by using data from previous years. This new system will not completely solve the problems with throwing away food but, it will help Kathy forecast what she needs and will help to ensure that she does not order more than necessary. The second issue which is the high-payroll problem is a little more difficult to deal with.
