Reasons Why People Abuse Drugs

Addiction is a complex disorder characterized by compulsive drug use. While each drug produces different physical effects, all abused substances share one thing in common: repeated use can alter the way the brain looks and functions. There are several reasons why people use drugs. Some of these reasons are: People suffering of a deep depression or mental illness, Stress, and Loss of a family member. People suffering a deep depression or a mental illness could lead to the use of drugs. This happen because they are passing through an emotional crisis and they might look for the use of drugs to relieve their pain. Mental illness is scary for the individual experiencing it, so they are afraid to go to a doctor or family member for help and instead look for drugs or alcohol to try and solve their problems on their own. Stress is the second cause of drugs addiction. People who are overloaded with too much work or too much study sometimes turn to drugs to find some release. People with financial problems and lot of bills to pay such as a house rent, a monthly car payment, credit cards debts and medical debts often pass through a stressful situation; therefore, they try to escape of those problems by doing drugs. Another cause that could lead to the use of drugs is the loss of a family member either by separation or death. A divorce could be a hard event to a person life; consequently, this person could find some relieve using drugs. A sudden or unexpected death of a loved one is other factor that makes people look for the easy way (drugs) to get over of their sadness. These three reasons are just a few of many others causes why people abuse drugs. In conclusion, drugs abuse is said to be the worst kind of addiction that a person can have.
