The Second Amendment was designed to guarantee the ability of law-abiding citizens to own and use firearms for legal purposes (The National Rifle Association Institute for Legislative Action, 2010). Even with the current gun control laws and their supporters, there are associations opposing against any and all types of gun control. The opponents of gun control, such as the National Rifle Association, argue that the “right to bear arms” is their guarantee under the Second Amendment of the Constitution of the United States of America. This association also argues the licensing restrictions
More gun control laws will fix this and make it significantly harder for bad people to obtain guns. Others may think that it is an invasion of privacy to make people undergo background checks before obtaining a gun. Indeed, for a few people, background checks will be considered an invasion of privacy. However, it is very necessary. If there were not any background checks before owning a gun, it is possible for a terrorist or criminal to acquire a gun, like they can right now.
They say this and they defend it with the statement that if they are threatened with a gun they can defend themselves if they have a gun themselves. I have the belief that by controlling the use of guns you WILL see a difference in killing due of the use of firearms. Of course guns don’t kill people. A gun can’t just shoot randomly but need a person to fire it. But then again if the gun weren’t there the person who wanted to shoot somebody didn’t have the possibility to do so.
One: to own firearm without being connected to the militia. Two: the use of firearm for self-defense within the home. Citizens have the right to protect themselves, but the rights to have guns can and have lead to more fatal crimes. "With guns, unlike knives or hands, rage and recklessness are likely to be translated cleanly and quickly into death" (Isaacson, 162). Guns are not made for anything else but to kill.
Gun Control There are Gun laws in the United States that regulate the sale, possession, and use of firearms and ammunition. These laws vary by state and are independent of federal firearms laws. There are just as many arguments for gun control as there are against gun control. In an ideal world where gun control was working, only people who will use guns for good will be allowed to possess and carry guns. However, the reality is that criminals will find a way to break gun laws and get guns illegally.
In conclusion, People in America with legal guns can protect themselves from many criminals that happened in this big country, and they live in a safe place. Private guns ownership should continue to be legal because they intensely reduce crimes. Furthermore, handgun lows reduce the number of attempted crimes because criminals are uncertain which victoms can defend themselves. For instance, when guns are banned, the criminal know that they are the only ones who are armed. Thus, the rates of criminals increase.
Illegal smuggling of guns has been a norm in the country. Most of the criminals may purchase their guns through gun shows and they may not be required to
I personally am a strong believer that an “ideal society” should have no guns; nevertheless crime is a big problem to the citizens of our society and guns are necessary. Therefore, it is not recommended that we ban guns completely. The most pragmatic thing to do is to reduce the availability of guns and make it difficult to procure them by making sure that they are given only to people who are mentally capable of handling them. There is a definite need to ban guns since their liberal usage leads to large-scale public massacres, which are suited for the field of war, not civilized society. Weapons like automatic rifles and assault weapons are tools created with the purpose of mass killings.
A certain type of gun should only be allowed to a certain person. Such as if your job is in the government or any other trusted position then you can be trusted. The sales representative or manger can also check for criminal back ground or anything suspicious about them. If this becomes a law then people who have committed crimes know not to come to a store and buy a gun or else they could be sent to jail. Less people will have an access to a gun causing fewer deaths to happen by gun violence conflicts.
Gun control laws have become such a huge controversy in the United States due to the fact that citizens believe their Second Amendment right is being taken away from them. In my eyes, I believe that extended gun control measures should be taken to ensure that access to assault weapons should be limited to certain people. I believe one deserve a well rounded background check to see if any mental health issues are visible. I also believe you have the right to own a weapon and the government is not trying to take away your hunting rifles, personal permitted handguns, etc. They government is emphasizing more on the fully automatic weapons, explosives, armor and other things that only the military should have access to.
