Why do you think this is so? Answers: 1. In the text, Mr. Hyde is described as the “friend and benefactor” of Dr. Jekyll. In the film adaptation, Mr. Hyde’s name is magnified in the will as a friend as well. 2. Dr. Jekyll left everything to Hyde in his will in case of his decease or, “in case of Dr. Jekyll's "disappearance or unexplained absence for any period exceeding three calendar months,”. 3. Yes, the plot differs in the film adaptation in several different ways, one difference being in the plot there is no signing of the will, whereas the entirety of the film was a scene portraying this event. Another difference was in the plot, we assume from the dialogue that there were only two people in the room. In the film, we see three people. Also, in the plot the lawyer has heard of Mr. Hyde and his questionable persona, while, in the film adaptation, whom we assume is the lawyer, Mr. Utterson, does not know anything about Mr. Hyde. The reason why I think the plot differs in the film adaptation is because there is no narrator to give a background or tell us what a character is thinking.…show more content…
