The more they practice and the more teachers and parents instill this in their minds, the better they will become. Perfect practice, makes perfect. Most people would probably have trouble with trying to remember how they learned to read. I would have to say that I am a person who loves to read and I think that is it really an amazing thing. Also, I am someone who is involved in education and research and I think that it is amazing how learning to read is said to be a talent that it potentially impossible.
This was our last conflict during the story. With all the conflicts and differences I rate this 8. My mom helped me look at reading in a different light. She also helped me be a better analyst when I read books with a more complex storyline. I learned from all this that reading isn’t just reading the story.
According to King, why is it so necessary to read a lot and to write a lot in order to be a good writer? Reading like anything else takes practice. I think that what King was trying to say is that when a person reads frequently they start to get a better understanding of the craft of writing. From the development of characters, to the plot building and creating a colorful timeline of events, ones writing can only improve with more reading. Stephen King was saying that confidence in prose will grow along with reading.
Questions for Discussion 1. I have come to believe that a love of reading is established in English classes, my experience with this results from my love of reading blossoming through my Language Arts classes when I was younger and has continued to grow once I transitioned into my high school English classes. 2. I actually disagree with Prose’s statement in which teachers deny other experiences besides their personal ones. I have been able to explore the experience offered within the book and have been able to fully grasp what the book offers.
Reading books change their mind and maybe as well as their lives. The value of literacy does not only play a role on kids but also on adults. After surviving from the holocaust, it is hard and hurt for Wiesel to recall the memory of what he and others had suffered but he chose to write the history down to let it remembered. He said[,] “I was duty-bound to give meaning to my survival, to justify each moment of my life. I knew the story had to be told.
By making some assumptions, describe some characteristics of the target market (end customers) for each of these market segments. (Chapter 8 pg. 208- 226) One of the target market segments will be book enthusiasts who love reading and like to buy all kinds of books. These buyers spend a lot of time on reading and try to read as many new books as possible. The book enthusiasts can belong to a wide range of age groups.

I love well written books that I can visualize with as I am reading. I love an author that can use words and phrases to keep me guessing throughout the book, it gives me the urge to want to know what is going to happen next. I want to keep reading to get to the end to fully understand what the author’s purpose is. I love a story that is very detailed because it gives me the chance to place myself in the story and really get into it.
This book has inspired me to read books more often considering the fact that I only read if it is mandatory such as for a school assignment. Although my favorite genre of books are teenage fiction books, I also like to read any type of fiction books. I would prefer to read a teenage fiction book because I like to be able to relate to different events that unfold in the book that I am reading. I like to be able to have a connection or something in common with a character from the book. This book was one of my personal favorites because me and the main character, Anne, had a lot in common.
The Process of Learning to Read and Write As hard working students we know about the importance of reading and writing. Reading and writing are our regular work as well as that in order to be able to fully understand and focused in education, we should follow the basic rules and regulations in learning how to read and write, the type of reading where a reader uses different types of reading techniques. However, every reader and writer has their own style of reading and writing. Many people can grow their strategies in learning because they have their own unique styles of reading and learning. In “Learning to Read and Write,” Frederick Douglass has states that the power of knowledge is very important in our life.
When one learns new things in life, one will be successful. Whether somebody is a musician, architect, mathematician, teacher, or doctor everyone uses reading as a form of communication and documentation. Reading is everywhere from street signs, to billboards, picture books, magazines, internet sites, and even instruction labels. We can only be successful from reading by learning and studying and expanding our brain to remember more books and key points for tests and everyday life. For example, in the essay “Reading Ourselves and the World Around Us” Alberto Manguel says, “I had seen, over and over again, the letters that I knew were the names of the pictures under which they sat”(5).
