Bullying in Schools Before we can discuss the different types of bullying, we must first have an understanding of what bullying is. Bullying is an aggressive behavior that involves unwanted negative actions; a pattern of behavior repeated over time and involves an imbalance of power or strength. Bullying has many different versions. It can include physical which consists of hitting, slapping, and shoving in a hurtful way, just to name a few. There's also verbal, and some examples of this are name calling, put downs, threats and intimidation.
Going to school shouldn’t be a punishment. Many pieces of literature reveal the theme of bullying such as; Please Stop Laughing At Me by Jodee Blanco, but people should look for something good in others instead of the bad will make differences. Bullying is not just someone punching you in the face or a bully calling you a name that you don't like. Bullying is a lot more than that; there are even different types of bullying. Physical, Verbal, Indirect, Social alienation, intimidation and Cyber bullying.
Diblasio believes that people are more aware of bullying and are finally taking action and reporting it. For example she claims “people are more likely to know about bullying and feel that they have to repot it” (Diblasio). This may be true; however are they targeting the right people? Most of the parents whose child is being bullying instantly assumes it is the schools fault, yet they don’t target the actual bully first. Like I have mentioned in the previous paragraph, schools only have limited power when it comes to bullying.
They have a good esteem. When a child is being bullied, it usually begins from school or public setting. So therefore we all watch out for bullying and help prevent it. “Bullying is a problem that many children experience outside the home, especially at school” (Dracic, 2009, Pg. 218).
Ishmael finds the courage to participate. And finally he is confident enough to take the fight to Barry Bagsley; he can almost taste revenge for the humiliation he and others have suffered. The results are unexpected. Notes for teachers • The theme of bullying strong in the book: the name-calling, the victimisation of those who are different or less able socially are both ways that Barry Bagsley finds to belittle others. Class discussion could be based on a consideration of the characters and the different ways they deal with bullying.
Bradbury is sure to include this criticism to emphasize the destruction that an oppressive society has on the children. ▪ Example: Montag’s concern over Clarisse’s treatment at school shows his growth as a responsible, independent thinker. He understands that socialization among children is very important, although in this society that is not allowed. Bradbury’s critical voice comes through in Montag’s voice and actions. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- FORMAT FOR BODY

This would be a great chapter of the book for parents to read because it would help them to understand why the school is doing what it is doing. There may be a lot of different things going on when it comes to discipline that a parent of a student with special needs does not understand and this chapter could given them a good insight to the reasons behind the actions. Also it would give parents the resources they need to maybe challenge what the school is doing if the school does end up over stepping their role in disciplining a student

We do not call this behavior challenging because it summons you to a duel or battle but because it is threatening, provocative, and stimulating, all at the same time.
