In the article Benefits of Earning a College Degree written by EducationCorner they state “Because college gives you a broad range of skills, many college graduates end up in fields that are not what they studied in school. College can open up unexpected opportunities that aren't always there for those who haven't engaged in a higher level of education.”Even if what you studied in college is not what you pursue in life you are still going to have a better time finding a job
(Rose 2011) I believe these students are doing different activities to better their lives and to experience different life styles. In college I was going to try college wrestling but I cannot because I’m not enrolled in the university. Even with low academic skills, going to the community college you can still explore new interests, discover new place, and meet new people. “These experiences contribute to college life, but getting an education should remain the student's foremost purpose.” (Shatkin 2009) Rose’s article talks about Elias
Popularity is important to the point he is trying to make because if the computer did not get popularity then the computer would have never catch on. 3a&b. how did video delivery work when gates wrote his essay? In what ways does gates think future video delivery will be different? Gates suggests the use of queries, filters, spatial navigation, links, and agents as primary selection techniques. No, the education system has because increasingly tougher and an average B grade student doesn't get a lot of credit or acknowledgement. In fact, in recent years, 1 in 8 graduates do not end up with a job straight after they attain their degrees. With the costs of living soaring through the roof and moreover, the ridiculous tuition fees (which probably seems like barely anything to all the Eaton boys), there has been nothing but stress for young people today. I guess adults do have a point though. Youth are becoming increasingly lazy.
Opposing viewpoints say that throughout life one can do that on their own, it doesn’t take college to figure that out. However, college “encourages students to think, ask questions, and explore new ideas, which allows for additional growth and development” (Importance of College Education). College offers many classes, and opportunities that’ll narrow someones options down to what they like to do, and what they want nothing to do with. Also, you can meet new people and expand your ways of thinking on what you want to do in life; open your mind to new ideas (The Value of Education 41). Being open-minded to learn or do new things can show one's true passion for a profession.
A third of children more than 7,000 children who were overweight in kindergarten were obese by eighth grade. And almost every child who was very obese remained that way. Some obese or overweight kindergartners lost their excess weight, and some children of normal weight got fat over the years. But every year, the chances that a child would slide into or out of being overweight or obese diminished. By age 11, there were few additional changes: Those who were obese or overweight stayed that way, and those whose weight was normal did not become fat.
Student athlete roles have always been a problem. Some people say these athletes shouldn’t even be in school because their grades aren’t high enough. Others see a more sensitive view of the topic. I experienced this topic first hand from middle school though high school and for about a week of college. I believe it really is a problem.
• In an average classroom of 20 children, there are most likely at least three children who are either victims or bullies. • One-half of motor vehicle accidents involving adolescents are associated with alcohol and other drugs. Methodology: This is a Quantitative study providing seemingly countless statistics, percents, and relationships between children and the “critical issues” they face today. Findings: Although poverty rates have gone down in the last 15 years, with the recent economic downturn, it is anticipated that we will again experience significant increases in children living poverty. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported that children, adolescents, and young adults are disproportionately affected by violent injury and death.
College is about many things, from learning about specific subjects and the world in general, to increasing your span through a broad range of new and different experiences. But for almost everybody, including me, college is primarily concerned with one thing: preparing you for a career. College doesn’t make you an expert in any field. Only experience will do that. But what college can do is make you qualified to set on a path to gain that experience.
