In order to take precautions before periods when in need of water, being a very important resource, it is highly advised for people to build water tanks. A rainwater tank is a water tank which is used to collect and store rain water runoff, typically from rooftops via rain gutters. As we know for certain many countries around the world experience water shortage, and it happens when there are unexplainable changes in the world’s weather. Having these rainwater tanks built in can give one the freedom from the water restrictions placed on us, although before drinking this water, there are certain criteria’s that have to be met , collected water can be made potable so long as it is filtered properly. Other than that it can be utilized in many ways, including your backyard, washing your clothes, flushing the toilet. All these factors can save a lot of money if utilized correctly. Several things that should be taken into consideration when buying a water tank – • The size – this is by far the most common question and the size of the tank will depend on your requirements. If you plan to use the water on your garden, you will only need a smaller tank. A larger tank will be required if you plan on using the water inside your home. Water tanks can store as little as a thousand litres of water and can store as much as 20,000 litres or more. • The design – the design of the tank will depend on the situation and also your requirements. Tanks come in many shapes and sizes, so there is one to suit almost every home. • Space – the amount of space that you have either beneath your home or in your back garden will also dictate the type of water tank that you can install.
