There is a need for studies with higher levels of control and randomization of subjects. Of all of the quantitative studies mentioned here, only two controlled for specific hospice diagnoses (8,37). Subjects with different terminal diagnoses may constitute a confounding variable since death trajectories vary by terminal diagnosis. Lack of randomization is a limitation for most of the studies discussed here; only three used randomization (8,34,40). Of those that used randomization, only one showed significant differences supporting the use of music therapy (8).
How does Handel's use of the orchestra in Handel's Water Music Suite No.2 reflect the style of his time? During the baroque period, a vast number of the instruments used to day were not available, so Handel’s composing of the water music suite was tailored to the instruments available at his disposal. The oboe for example became popular in the baroque period often doubling up the violin parts to provide greater clarity. Handel also used it in his water music suite as it was a common instrument to be played outdoors. In Suite No.2 of The Water Music, the oboes mostly double violins 1 and 2 however did not double their quavers suggesting they were not yet as agile as the oboes used today, or occasionally play their own motifs with the bassoon.
The purpose of this essay was to inform the reader of how the movie didn’t exactly have the same detail like the book. It’s very rare for a movie to have this much similarities to the book because most book and movies doesn’t have a lot of similarities. That’s why most people didn’t pick either the book or the movie they picked both. Anyways, both the book and the movie are great. Once you get out the theater you will bewildered on what you saw.
Other similes in the story appeal to various senses, such as smell: she gave off perfume like the red roses in the summer. In using similes, Eudora makes vivid comparisons that help the reader form a mind’s eye picture of the action. In conclusion, the worth of this work is achieved by
“Sometimes normal musical imagery crosses a line and becomes, so to speak pathological, as when a certain fragment of music repeats itself incessantly, sometimes maddeningly, for days on end.”(100). This is called “brain worms” and it is something we all have to deal with at one point or another because of music constantly surrounding us. It does not seem like a big deal, but it is, especially when it
How did the Darmstadt movement, the city of Cologne and Karl-Heinz Stockhausen contribute to the evolution of 20th century music? Assess the role of technology; explain some of the musical techniques and timbres a listener encounters. The 20th century resulted in major transformations, not only socially but in politics, medicine and culture too. Music, in particular, developed considerably throughout the 20th century. Despite different musical ideas being explored in previous eras, it was difficult to advance music further in terms of different timbres or varied musical techniques due to the lack of technology present at the time.

Sacrifices or traditions like this were not uncommon in history, but are not so common anymore. They have been labeled as cabala, or secret doctrines or sciences by the common religions of today like Christianity and Islam. Mentioned above is the fact that “fertility rites took place on Midsummer Eve (23rd of June) or on Midsummer Day (24th of June)”, so why did Jackson choose June 27th? The number 27 is not a prime number; therefore it can be reduced into smaller numbers like 9 and 3. “The number 9 is a multiple of 3, so the symbolic value attached to 3 is increased, namely completeness, perfection and fertility, and the end of a cycle (death) before the return to unity.
Once a person reaches 18, he or she is considered an adult and has the right to vote and can be sent to war; but you can not buy alcohol. In some cases, the drinking age is considered a way to keep you healthy. The article “Minimum Drinking Age” states, “The human body does not fully develop until the age of 21. The intake of alcohol can cause grave mental and physical damage.” Other countries have a different opinion about the drinking age. For example, in Europe the drinking age ranges from 14 to 18, and other countries have no drinking age at all.
These addictions seem familiar because in many circumstances they don’t go without being detected. What isn’t understood is that addiction goes beyond these popular activities. In fact, “…some behaviors are so common that an addiction can easily go by unnoticed.” These less recognized addictions could include shopping, working, caffeine, television, exercise, negativity, and love (Uttley, 2011). Although there are many addictions that are not perceived, it does not necessarily mean they are rare. Meaning, many people have these dependences but they don’t classify them as addictions.
