Racial Identity in Christendom America Samuel Bunting Liberty University Abstract Identity can be a struggle for all of us. Especially when we look to identity ourselves in America. Other countries identity can be easier for instance in Japan, if you’re Japanese it is easier to identity yourself because most of the individuals around you look just the same. But America is different and though there is nothing wrong with this difference forming our identities of who we are can be a struggle. Take the identity struggle and place it together in a Christendom environment and there can be a serious identity clash. Looking into the struggle of identity particularly racial identity and seeing where the struggle comes from and who is involved in helping in identifying oneself is one piece of the puzzle. Looking at a Christendom view of how and what Christendom is to do is another piece. The overall view point and understanding taking research and matching it to the writer’s struggles on racial identity in Christendom America. Racial Identity in Christendom America America is a melting pot. Individuals from all over the world come to America because of the way our laws and government are set up. We have freedoms such as speech and religion. America has been noted as the ‘land of the free and the home of the brave’ and sometimes referred to as a Christian nation. Even if an individual isn’t a Christian they can feel welcome in America to worship whom they choose to worship. But unfortunately America has a sad history. If we look to the past America’s history reflects a plethora of negativity. From the slaughtering of Native American’s who are the true first Americans.
