If powers are not outlined in the constitution, then it is up to the government (courts, judges, etc.) to decide what changes need to be made to fit the needs of society within these days. No written Constitution can anticipate all the means that might oppress people, so it is sometimes necessary for judges to fill in the gaps. The constitution was clearly meant to be interpreted and amended over time. For example, look at the Bill of Rights, and how generally various rights are stated.
Use my knowledge, not act to act, think things through before taking them out , analyze the situation , even when things look difficult , the situation that we face every day no matter that there is someone who we complicate these , there is always a way forward , the giving up is not an option , much less an exit. The knowledge generated from the analysis and experience will always be the determining factor in any situation. By reading this great book , complete learning he acquired a book I read just before this "Blink : The power of thinking without thinking " by Malcolm Gladwell , which shows the advantages and / or disadvantages as the case carrying out spontaneous actions or using the experience and it's not always good to do one but not the other . I relate these two books in this analysis because although in The Art of War shows the benefits offered by being aware of what we do there will always be situations in which the instinct guide us and we'll get more benefit than if the meditate for a
My parents will eventually stop helping me at the certain point of time, and, so, I will be an independent person. I need to do everything by myself. There will be many challenges awaits me in my life and I have a great responsibility for what I did. I will be suffering the consequences with only few supports to help me. There will be many problems that I need to find a solution with it.
Jobs are hard to find these days, especially when they are seeking a High School diploma or a College degree of some sort. My returning back to school is the best decision that I have made thus far and when I finally graduate, I will know for sure that I made the right choice. My family has a lot to do with me returning to college, I know that there are different job opportunities for me. In order to make it in this world, you have to have some type of degree. Having financial problems played a factor also in my returning to school.
However, the citizens wanted to make their own rules to follow, sensible and understandable rules. Further on Paine explains “the sun will never shine on a cause of greater worth?” I think that Paine is saying that it is such an issue that we should look to reform it in any way so that it is more fair to all citizens. The struggle of having a King or a Monarchy for the people at that time was difficult. The community wanted a more fair and equal government, while the king was not giving that to them. Let’s take for instance when Paine refers to the past writings of another author, Mr. Pelham “they will last my time.” The name of ancestors will be remembered for their great deeds by future generations with destinies of their own.
If someone were to break these unofficial rules they would no be longer trusted by their peers. One might say that these rules should not be applied in real life. These rules should definitely be applied our daily lives. By learning what these rules are about such as, no snitching, mind your own business and etc. These rules are plainly common sense and in reality they really are applied into our daily lives.
Civil Disobedience; Not as Simple as Black and White Can we really live our lives as Author and Historian, Henry David Thoreau did all those years ago, obeying only the laws we feel to be just laws, and ignoring those we consider unjust? Or should we rally together to get those unjust laws changed like American clergyman and Civil Rights Leader, Martin Luther King and millions of others did? Is civil disobedience as simple as black and white? If it were as simple as Thoreau made it seem then Mr. King may not have been known for the many things we know him for today. In Martin Luther King's "Letter from a Birmingham Jail" we learned how Mr. King and his many supporters used the laws and the hatred of others to benefit their cause, a just cause, righting unjust laws without breaking any real laws.
* * By using the SMART criteria I was able to focus on one career that will help with my Long Term Goal. The Career Plan Building activity just help show me that I was on the right path. In Confucianism they believe people will follow their leader. On the contrary, Legalism, believes that people should not be given the choice to do good because if they have that choice it’s very unlikely they will try to do good. The law has to prevent people from doing any bad, and the consequences were very harsh, so that people will do the right thing. As you can see, they both have very different beliefs. But one thing they have in common is that they both want people to do good, and do the right thing.
Cameron Fairchild 2-17-12 There are two ways that the ideas of Enlightenment that would affect an Absolute society. The first way is the idea of consent from the people to make or enact laws. “… I would not have you meddle with such ancient rights of mine as I have received from my predecessors, possessing them more (as ancestral customs): such things I would be sorry should be accounted for grievances.” That shows that absolute rulers did not take the opinion of others into consideration when making decisions. “... No one can be put out of this condition and be subjected to the power of another without his own consent.” The Enlightenment way of thinking states that a man has the right to decide if he may be subjected to a law or not but that contradicts what the absolute rulers are saying and believing. This would impact the absolute society by showing the people that they have the right to have a say in the law making and taxation.
