When a dilemma arises, my responsibility is to support individuals or their families to make informed choices. Even if I disagree with their decision, I can only give advice but can not force them. If an individual is willing to do something that involves some risk, I have to support people to make informed choices. Totally avoiding risks would limit individual’s choices and opportunities and it can lead to dependency and depression. I have to act in the person’s best interest but instead of encouraging them to avoid risks I have to support them and enable them to taking part in activities.
131). As noted, Koren’s values often come out in her regrets about the future and expectations about the past, but rarely in her actions. It is as if she needs constant reminding and reinforcing of what she values most. Rather than dealing with persistent worry and regret, this game would allow Koren to better understand the smaller aspects of her life and how they pertain to her values. This exercise is used to recognize the smaller goals and commitment necessary to follow through on a more long-term commitment.
Everyone has they own beliefs and personal attitudes, but as a practitioner it is best for the children and setting if you follow the regulations set by the setting and also the parents wishes because you could influence a child down a path which isn’t conductive to their wellbeing. It is also
Therefor he is only just acting on his theory and doing nothing, whilst source three would argue that maybe he should go back a look at the situation again and look for a different theory as to why the world is the way it is and act on the new theory. Source two also goes against the statement of source one where men cannot bear to see the suffering of others. The man in source two clearly cares for his comfort and wellbeing vs. the comfort and wellbeing for others which goes against what source one had to say. Source two does not care how big of a mess the world is as long as it does affect him. He is doing busy doing nothing to ease
You have chosen to avoid me and bring me to court without any warning, “where the law requires one to bring those who are in need of punishment, not instruction.” In this clarification from the Apology Socrates is stating that he is not persuading others to become evil. He is not converting others into wickedness. Why would he put himself into a situation that will harm him? If he is corrupting the youth he is doing it without the intention of harming others or himself. It was his accuser’s responsibility such as Meletus to approach him about the matter and warn
My definition of success is the results of perseverance and consistency. If I have a goal I must achieve, I will try my best to reach that goal. If I fail to achieve my goal, but I have tried my best and have gained a greater understanding of the task, then I feel as if I have succeeded. My mom, who has played a major role in my education, taught me the mentality of “never give up.” I guess that I live by the saying “Never give up, or you’ll never succeed.” I feel that it is okay to fail, as long as I learn from my mistakes. It is not okay to fear failure, because if we fear failure, we potentially begin to fear success, because most of the time we learn from mistakes, and if we are scared of making errors, there will be too much pressure placed on ourselves to succeed causing us to fail
Janie finds her voice even though she goes though hard times such as Zora. Like Janie, Zora revealed the importance it is in becoming independent and not having to depend on others for help. This book is important to me, because the Character Janie proved to me how important it is to follow your dreams, and no matter what the circumstance were it was important to go through it and learn from your mistakes. I think that is a message that Zora was trying to tell the people that were around her, even though Jim Crow laws were pulling them down it was important for the people to take pride in themselves and fight back, so that they too will have a ‘big voice’ in the
All they need to know that that every life is valuable and it is everyone’s responsibility to promote safety on the road. But mostly I will play on their emotions because I will put them in the frame of mind of knowing just how easy it is to lose someone they love. 11) What position that is different from yours might cause your audience not to accept your position? (Note: There may be more than one.) Now that you have identified it, what do you need to add to your own argument to convince your audience that this alternate position should be rejected in favor of your own position?
She is a young head strong girl who knows what she wants and how to get it, while not letting anything obstruct her path. By saying ‘I shall not prove disloyal’ represents how she feels about what she is going to do, even though it does mean breaking the law. Antigone knows that is against the law but doesn’t care because her family and moral values are more important to her. She made a vow she took seriously to bury her brother and her execution of that vow epitomizes her view of the correct moral duty. A responsibility that one is given as soon as they enter the family is making decisions and displaying actions that carry forth a sense of ethical duty.
You as a carer have a duty of care to keep the individual safe but you must always respect the individuals’ rights and choice, so this would cause a dilemma. For example if an individual no longer wishes to use her walking frame, but her care plan states she needs it to move around then you must ensure you encourage her to use it. In this situation you could carry out a risk assessment to ensure it is dealt with as safely as possible. You would need to explain the risks to her and make sure she understands. You could come to a compromise and suggest she uses a walking stick for a while instead to see if she can manage and in the meantime you can monitor the situation.
