“Quixote”—Book Review I had heard about the book “Quixote” since I knew about foreign literature. I also memorized the name “Cervantes”. However, when I saw the book which seemed very thick as a big dictionary, there was a conflict aroused in my heart. It was even harder for me to imagine how to finish reading such a hard and thick book with so many difficult words to understand. So I made a halt to leave it till I grow up. I also spent a lot of time in waiting. When I entered the Xi’an international university, I found that I shouldn’t be waiting anymore. So I borrowed the book from the library. I haven’t finished reading, but I’d like to share my feelings about the book I am reading. The Nigerian famous writer Ochs said emotionally, “To be living in the world, if there were only one book we should necessarily read, that one would be “Quixote.” When I first came into contact with the book, I only thought it was very ridiculous. I was accustomed to read the traditional Chinese fictions which were generally thought special on their plots. The only image it left on me was a little fat cartooned man with a suit of armor. I couldn’t even understand that how could the book be called a world’s literature. It was clearly about a person called Quixote who always lives in the world he imagined, who is always delirious, who always behaves in the way he thinks, who regarded the aerovane as a giant, the flock of sheep as the enemies the prisoner as the injured knight, and who killed a lot without thinking. He did make some funny things. His actions did nothing good to others. Meanwhile, he also got punishments. In Quixote’s heart, each knight is a super hero. The reason he is obsessed with them is because of their vigorous life and the passionate justice to kill the evildoers for the people.
