It basically means that be respectful to whoever your speaking to and think justly. My favorite ones are those listed above and also the virtue called “order” which basically means there is a time and place for everything. Your work time should not come between your hearth and family time. All his virtues were like life lessons; things I can use in everyday
Warmly greeting both Max and Kim by name on arrival and making eye contact followed by a smile will ensure that the he knows you’re friendly. If possible, encourage Kim to remain at the centre with Max for a period of time each morning, sharing activities with him and you. As Max feels more comfortable at the centre over time, the time periods that his mother stays, could be reduced. Make sure that the separation of Max and Kim is unhurried and relaxed. Be enthusiastic, bend down to address Max face to face and let him know who you are; share information about your life ,seek activities that you know Max enjoys and participate in these with him i.e.
Being concise, precise, accurate and honest are necessary for any communication between staff and family members and also with service users. Utilising a communication book and also staff hand overs at the beginning of a shift is a necessity when working in care. Staff handover is when you find out if any service user needs extra help or to be observed more often. Communication books can be used for letting staff that you rarely see (ie night staff) that a service user has decided to change something on their breakfast tray, or a change or want of a night drink. This helps with continuity between staff and how the service users needs and wants are met.
At Hafan-Y-Waun our end of life policy is developed in line with our mission statement to meet the changing needs of the people in our care. This means that through the persons final days they live as comfortably, dignified and peaceful as possible. In our agreed ways of working our end of life care begins as soon as the person is admitted. If this is to be their last home we must do what we can to make it a place the person wants to live. This means decorating their bedroom to their liking and surrounding them with their own belongings where possible.
*To build a good relationship between the clients and carers. 2. 1 1. Human Rights Act Enables a person to be able to: to say what they like as long as they respect others make choices about their life expect people to listen to them have information about their rights have their rights respected be safe at home and having time to themselves speak out and complain if something is wrong choose the people they want to see and who their friends are get married and have children live with people they get on with decide what they spend their money on and get paid for the work they do (Human Rights Act 2000) 1.2 This legislation has made carers and others more aware of rights and how taking this right away may affect that person, it clearly lays out what rights individuals have, no matter what sex, race, age or disability they may have. It has influenced individuals with learning disabilities’ and their families 2 2.1 A learning disability can be severe, moderate or low and may mean that this person needs extra support in their daily living skills, education or work. 2.2 This can be caused through a difficult birth or an accident affecting the head and brain 2.3 The medical model of disability views disability as a ‘problem’ that belongs to the disabled individual. It is not seen as an issue to concern anyone other than the individual affected.
As Ehrenreicht says the Family is the place where we go for comfort and to relax, but it is that very notion of family being a safe haven makes it all that much... In my opinion the ideal family is a group of people that have emotional, blood, or legal ties. The ideal family to me includes a monogamous marriage between two adults who are socially and financial dependent. These adults should also care for young including biological children, adopted children, or mentoring for disadvantaged children. The parents should teach the children, and also provide proper education.
