Jimmy Carter was a poor president. Even hardcore Democrats after four years of his rule had had enough of him and cast their votes for conservative Ronald Reagan. His overblown Social Security expenses brought the federal budget on the brink of collapse. Inflation had reached one of its highest levels ever; gas prices jumped with scaring regularity. Carter's foreign policy was a weird mixture of Nixon's real politik and McGovern's naive idealism.
Who were the major players in the Spanish Civil War and how did they affect its course and outcome? For the first time in Spain’s history, 1931 marked the year that changed the country into an orderly democratic republic. The exile of King Alfonso XIII in 1931 because of the loss in support from the Spanish people only highlighted that the monarchy was doomed. Therefore, the Second Spanish Republic ruled from 1931 until 1937 and was under the dictatorship of Primo de Rivera whose main aims was to modernize Spain through liberal, democratic means. Although, the development of change already faced opposition from right-winged supporters, including rich landowners who feared social changes that the Republic would try to implement.
Source 3 shows a clear disagreement though, as it states Callaghan “struggled to rule effectively until a vote of no-confidence” was called upon. Throughout his government, Callaghan biggest concern was to maintain economic stability but in doing so had destroyed Britain’s industry. As a result of this Callaghan will forever be associated with the Winter of Discontent incident which is exactly what source 3 is suggesting. James, Callaghan is a man of experience is partially why he suited the role of Prime Minister. Source 2 states “The political skills he had perfected in his previous posts were just what was needed” which supports the view that indeed, James Callaghan was a man of experience.

Insurance advertisements from a few years ago had a tendency to be more serious, like Prudential’s “Own a Piece of the Rock” or Allstate’s previous ads with actor Dennis Haybert talking more seriously about insurance losses. Insurance giant Geico, a Warren Buffet owned company, started using humor a few years ago with the Geico Gecko and the Cavemen to sell insurance. Everybody needs insurance, and it is a competitive business, but Allstate is hoping to tilt the scales in their favor with a character that they have created called Mayhem. Mayhem grabs your attention with humor, he shows the craziness that can happen in life, and how Allstate is there to protect us, making this a pretty effective advertisement. Mayhem is a humorous, exaggerated depiction of the things that can go wrong in everyday life.

Still, most conservatives remain opposed on principle to any reform that would provide what they see as amnesty for people who entered the country illegally. Bill Richardson, a Democrat, says his party is right to insist on legalization, as well as a pathway to citizenship. “We need to bring the 11 million undocumented workers that are currently in this country out of the shadows; make them productive players in the U.S. economy," he
