Public vs. Private School Which Is Better?

“What is one important thing that no one can take away from you?” “Education”, my mother always told me that was the most important thing. Parents will sometimes have the very difficult decision whether to put their child through private or public school. The debate is which one is better for their child’s future and education. There are an estimated 119,150 private schools and 87,190 public schools in the United States. (Fast Facts) As we head more into the future it seems that there are a lot less students enrolled to these private schools (K-12 grade) and more go into public schools. Since 1990 the student population in private schools have dropped by estimated 8% which may not seem like much but eventually it will escalate to even more as people will not even be able to afford the schools tuition cost. (“Private Education”) The primary causes that children are not being enrolled that much in private school could vary, of course between money, education, strict rules, or even religious backgrounds. In order to know whether public or private school is best for one’s child, a parent should either study this subject matter or ask someone that has learned through experience – like me. Though there are some advantages being in private school and most parents would think it is best for their kids, I believe public school is better for most kids and teenagers to attend. Many parents have different reasons why they would rather put their kids through private school rather than public. For one, parents believe that private schools are safer than public school: “Currently, it appears private schools are perceived safer than public, but public schools are working to close the gap. The adoption of school uniform policies in many public school districts is just one example of how they are addressing ongoing safety issues.” (Roper) Religion would also be a big part in
