Friday, April 26, 2013 - 12:00pm PDT by JONATHAN NETTLER Architecture, South Asia 5 1 0 As the death tool passes 300 from the horrific collapse of an 8-story garment factory in Dhaka, Bangladesh, thoughts turn to New York City's Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire of 1911. Can some good follow this disaster, as it did in New York? The nototrious Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire was New York City's second deadliest disaster until the collapse of the World Trade Center in 2001. It was also the instigation for significant reforms in working conditions and building safety. According to Wikipedia, as a result of the fire that killed 146 garment workers, "[n]ew laws mandated better building access and egress, fireproofing requirements, the availability of fire extinguishers, the installation of alarm systems and automatic sprinklers, better eating and toilet facilities for workers, and limited the number of hours that women and children could work."

Making those troops that they lead aware of the consequences of this issue will show support for anyone who becomes a victim. It will also make them better
* 1.2 Lack of communication in the workplace can result in relationships being strained and unfulfilled, it is very important that there is good communication between all members of staff as this ensures things run well and mistakes are not made and things are not overlooked. It also enables us to work effectively with each other. * 2.1/2.2/2.3/2.4 Reading care plans is always a good start when establishing the individual’s communication needs and preferences, if the service user is new to your home then either ask the previous carers or the service users friends and family as they are likely to know and can pass this information to you, this also enables you to put this information in your own care plans for the individual. If the service user is not new to the home but you are, ask other staff how they communicate with them. When promoting effective communication you should ensure that you have all the information on how the individual prefers to communicate, and to be very aware of the environment, ensure there are no distractions, for you or the service user.

The biggest, most successful bomb raid for the Germans was when they bombed London on September 8, 1915. The damage cost London millions of pounds, and the damage was done by only one Zeppelin, the L-13. While bomb raids took place in London, Germany was bombing Paris too. It was easier for the Germans to bomb Paris because of the flight there and how close the German airship base was. After the war ended, the use of the Zeppelin declined.

“At 9:02 a.m. on April 19, 1995, a 7,000-pound truck bomb, constructed of ammonium nitrate fertilizer and nitromethane racing fuel and packed into 13 plastic barrels, ripped through the heart of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City. The explosion wrecked much of downtown Oklahoma City and killed 168 people, including 19 children in a day-care center. Another 500 were injured. Although many Americans initially suspected an attack by Middle Eastern radicals, it quickly became clear that the mass murder had actually been carried out by domestic, right-wing terrorists. The slaughter engineered by Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols, men steeped in the conspiracy theories and white-hot fury of the American radical right, marked the opening shot in a new kind of domestic political extremism.
