The book ends during the early stages of Obamaʼs presidential campaign and touches on the shift away from Obama pointing out her husbandʼs domestic failings to someone who helped tell his story and continue to introduce him to the American public. Who is the First Lady? She is an impressive woman - intense, intelligent, confident, attractive, and free-speaking and someone her husband calls the rock of the Obama family. She is both mother and wife, the nurturing, stern and supportive woman who holds it all together. Michelle LaVaughn Robinson grew up in a family that had faced many hardships throughout their life, but nonetheless made sure to motivate her and have her reach for the stars.
Michelle Obama Rhetorical Essay First Lady, Michelle Obama, at the Democratic National Convention gives us a speech. In which she emphasizes that she and her family are no different than any average American family and they have went through many hardships similar to the typical American family. Obama’s purpose is to persuade the audience that she and her husband, President Barack Obama, have numerous plans and ideas that will help the country succeed. She adopts a passionate tone in order to convince people to reelect her husband again in the next election by speaking towards Democrats in America First Lady Obama begins her speech by illuminating the fact that she and Barack have went through many of the same adversities and battles that regular American families have been through too. She appeals to these struggles by admitting that she and Barack were, “both raised by families who didn’t have much in the way of money or material possessions” (50-51), she acknowledges her parent’s unconditional love for her, “he [First Lady Obama’s father] and my mom were determined to give me and my brother the kind of education they could only dream of” (62-63), and that Barack “was raised by a single mother who struggled to pay bills, and by grandparents who stepped in when she needed help” (76-77).
The audience seems to be predominately women, and involved in politics, or related educational fields. Baker’s speech was to inform and inspire them. The final speech was, “Women’s Rights are Human Rights” delivered at the 1995 United Nation’s 4th World Conference on Women by First Lady Hillary Clinton. Her speech was about the rights and equality of women and that by bettering women’s lives it will bolster children and families too. Clinton’s speech to the UN World Conference on Women seems to be a perfectly tailored audience for her message, and that audience can heed her call to action if her speech inspires them.
Samuel McBride L.Pridgen Eng 111-03 04 November 2010 Comparison Paper My Mother Vs President Barrack Obama The USA is a great country to live in. The USA is kept running by different presidents who control and manages the country. I believe that I have a good and stable household that I live in. My house is run by my mother who lays down the rules and me and my sisters follow them. Although the president controls and runs the country and my mom controls one house hold, My moms run the house and President Obama run the country in similar way: the way they work to have a stable home and country , the way they lead and the way they deal with issues.
He was also truly touched by a recent rally and appeal to United State senators, in which she moved to abolish the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy in the states(her speech can be found at: http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/video/lady-gaga-senate-repeal-dont-ask-dont-tell-message-11664111) In Germanotta’s appeal to the senators she says,” It is my belief that no one person is more valuable than another.” This line really solidifies her passion for equality and equal rights and really spoke to me. During her speech, she handled herself very professionally and it was hard to imagine her as the music risk-taker that I, and most other teens, have come to love. Most people in my generation remember when they first heard Lady Gaga. It was most likely her first hit song, “Just Dance”, on the radio. Since its release in 2008, Germanotta has become known worldwide.
Since Elizabeth wanted to distance herself from the largely unpopular Mary Tudor, she chose her own 19 man Privy Council, made up of people she trusted and quite crucially none of them were hard core Catholics. William Cecil or baron Burghley as he was later referred as was perhaps the most important council member, he was a very astute politician and almost like a father figure to Elizabeth, this trust earned him the job of secretary of state. Cecil was hard working, incredibly loyal to England and to Elizabeth and crucially did not only get the job because he knew Elizabeth; he knew how government worked and what he needed to do to effectively run a big part of country. He was never afraid to tell Elizabeth when he thought she was wrong which of course would frustrate her at the time but she always valued his opinions, most people in Tudor England would just agree and go along with whatever the monarch said so to have such a loyal and smart

When acknowledging her, she has won a Nobel prize for her literature which gives the U.S. citizens a strong sense of credibility further establishing ethos, Morrison writes phrases to share her thoughts like “thinking carefully” and “more compelled by the quality of mind.’ These phrases gives us the sense that she has been thinking of the candidates’ strengths and weaknesses and acknowledged which will be the better president for this time. Thus, giving her our trust in return for our vote towards Obama. Toni Morrison uses the rhetorical appeals of logos, pathos, and ethos to win over the legal voters of the United States and convince them that Obama is the best choice for this country as president. Morrison believes Obama will show Americas full potential to the
Abigail Adams reminded her husband to not forget the women in the constitution which is significant because it was the beginning of women’s rights. Women also became more involved and interested in politics, to the distaste of most men. Many women followed their soldiers while at war and took care of the men. There were some women who acted in radical ways (ex. the New York City fire, riots, and letters), which hadn’t previously been so.
According to Gilman, the result is the traditional role of mother, which then is passed on to her children. There is a continuance of the role and image of woman as unpaid worker and nurturer. The author of Women and Economics argues that women have been stripped of freedom that has stunted their growth both personally and creatively in society. In the 2005 The American Transcendental Quarterly, Cynthia J. Davis argues that Gilman’s theory of women’s economic independence on which her arguments are based on “represents the triumph of
