Summer reading journals I formed a number of rationalizations. It would get me fit after years of waddlesome sloth. It would be an interesting and reflective way to reacquaint myself with the scale and beauty of my native land after nearly twenty years of living abroad. It would be useful (I wasn't quite sure in what way, but I was sure nonetheless) to learn to fend for myself in the wilderness. When guys in camouflage pants and hunting hats sat around in the Four Aces Diner talking about fearsome things done out-of-doors, I would no longer have to feel like such a cupcake.
I guess I must have eaten one too many hot dog or too many nachos, because I suddenly really had to go to the bathroom. I wasn't sure my Dad would let me go by myself, but we were within one run of tying the game and he didn't want to miss anything. I was thrilled. When you're eight finding the men's room by yourself is a real grown-up adventure. Even the word "MEN'S room" was exciting.
Furthermore, our attendance at the Menin Gate to pay our respects to the soldiers who had fought in World War One gave us all a new found appreciation for the ‘sacrificed generations’, with even a few of the boys shedding some tears. 1:30 in the morning in Bayeux what do we all hear but a fire alarm which according to some reliable sources, Mrs Duggan’s room had set off. Needless to say this was a very eventful start to the morning with everyone gathered in the hostel courtyard attired in their fuzzy socks and nightgowns, only to hear the caretaker say, “We are sorry about this”. When entering the beautiful city of Paris, the excitement in the atmosphere escalated as we all glimpsed the Eiffel tower looming overhead. After our visit to the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triumph and the Louvre to see the infamous Mona Lisa no one wanted to return to Australia although we were all missing our families a great deal.
By how the mountains overlap each other with vibrant colors of every season and how the sun stretches out over the cross as if it were Jesus standing right before you is the reason why this view is so gorgeous luring. This Chapel reflects a strong religious background of the Christian Faith with the cross it displays and a verse from the Bible. Many churches each year bring their youth to Camp Greenville which is less than a mile from the view because of its Godly factors. I remember on many occasions when I would wake up super early before sunrise with many others and walk the long, chilling, but inspiring road that leads me straight to the cross. As I walk I like to allow my thoughts to come together and emit a relaxing sensation over my spirit.
English 9A: Growing Up: Family Narrative Mia Ippoliti My Family Narrative Last year my family and I took a spring break vacation to the beautiful state of Washington. Originally we had wanted to visit the Olympic Peninsula because of our love for the Twilight Saga book series but after researching on-line we realized that there was lots to see besides the infamous small city of Forks. We planned to visit the only rain forest in the United States as well as several wild nature beaches where we would spend low tide hours exploring the sea life inside of tide pools. We also planned to stay a few nights at two different Native American reservations on the west coast right on the Pacific Ocean! We named the trip "Our Wild Northwest Adventure."
Sugar Island provides the necessary essentials to entice customers to feel at peace while dining. First let’s talk about the how the overall hospitality of the restaurant made me feel welcomed. When I first walked up to the restaurant there was a greeter who opened the door for me to enter. I thought that was interesting, given the impression that many major restaurants don’t provide that type of generosity. I was greeted with a smile and politely asked if I was dining alone or awaiting a party.
Exegesis on Lk.7: 36-50 36 One of the Pharisees asked/desired him to eat with him, and he went into the Pharisee’s house and took his place at the table. In those days, it was honourable to invite a teacher for a supper especially when the teacher was from outside of the town. They were actually reclining instead of sitting shows that they were using couches not chairs which was a sign of a banquet probably arranged in the honour of a famous guest teacher (Keener 208). Jesus dining at Pharisees house was not very normal, because often He was with poor and needy or at synagogue. Pharisees often had a wrong intention when they approached Jesus, mostly to find fault with Him.
It made for a fun filled weekend. The most exciting thing was getting ready for spirit week, the dance, buying a dress, getting my hair done these were all things that went with homecoming. This was just something that I wasn’t looking forward to, although it was going to be one of the best times of my senior year. As the school year continued, things got to be even more eventful, spring break was coming up. This was something that I had looked forward too for three years.
It’s a nice and warm day. I can’t wait to go and see the neighbors and play with them around the town. There was this amazing place that I saw on my way home yesterday, that I’ve thought about taking my friends there today. Since there’s no school, I would love to take my friends there today. I think that they will enjoy it as much as I did when I saw it yesterday.
Final Creative Art Project Paper A great landscape photographer and environmentalist Ansel Adams wholly inspired my artwork. I have been particularly fascinated by nature since my parents frequently took me out on nature trails as a child. My interest in nature grew up with me as I find my peace of mind among the lush greenery of the woods. This made trekking my favorite outdoor activity. Nothing in the world for me can be compared to the beauty of sunrise where the red sun transforming into golden shines its rays over the humongous ice covered mountains, green trees and fast flowing transparent river.
