do we have our priorities in the correct order? Since when was finance of greater importance than the lives of many? As long as we let these businesses continue to expose deadly Ultra Violet radiation on the members of the public, we can be sure some people will suffer from melanoma. We must not allow any delay in one of the only plausible methods of reducing melanoma because think about it; other causes of melanoma would be the beach which obviously cannot be banned. The sooner we initiate the ban, the sooner lives are saved.
Brianna DiElmo Essay-1 Rowand If one day a so called “miracle pill” was invented to allow a human to function with only one hour of sleep per night but then never be able to dream again, choosing to take it or not would be a huge decision. There are many reasons to why a person would take the pill such as, substantial amounts of extra time to get things done, study, clean, go to school, and just time for yourself. But on the other hand loosing the ability to dream most likely will make people reconsider. Therefore there are many advantages and drawbacks of such pill. In my own opinion I would not take the pill just due to the fact that I would never be able to dream again, which is a huge thing for me.
For example, Pollan talks about margarine, and how scientists “claim” that it is a better, and cheaper substitute for butter, but it contains all these unnecessary ingredients that could be more harmful to the human body. Scientist believed by taking out saturated fats and cholesterol they could make margarine healthier, but what they did not know was it would produce unhealthier fats known as, trans fats.
