This also applies on our country, but in Morocco, the truth is not ready to be told or heard yet. Yes, Morocco has become a destination of sexual tourism, and denying this will only make things worse. According to a report recently elaborated by the US government, Morocco stands in the head of countries with an important dynamic in prostitution. Our little girls and women have clients from all over the world: Moroccans, Europeans, and especially the rich men of Gulf countries. Starting from 15DH to 10 000DH, and whether in Marrakech, Agadir, Tangier, Casablanca, or Rabat, a person can always find what will satisfy his needs. Even though no one talks about it, you only need to hang around a few weeks in Marrakech’s streets to find out that there are all kinds of prostitution in Morocco. One may even say that Marrakech is the Bangkok of Africa. Tourists come to Morocco for two main reasons: sex and drugs. Only a minority are driven by their passion for its old rocks, beaches, or deserts. But everyone should be aware that prostitution is divided into categories according to the social class in which it is practiced. While prostitution among the poor is just another job, it changes shapes as we gradually advance in the social scale.
