Justin Kreindler There are many design flaws that occurred in Jurassic Park, but some are more important than the others. In my opinion, the five major design flaws in Jurassic Park are that they had limited knowledge of dinosaurs and the environment they needed to live in, assumed that the dinosaurs couldn’t reproduce since they were all female, assumed that the dinosaurs wouldn’t try to adapt to the parks conditions, assumed the dinosaurs would act like zoo animals and be passive and docile, and, finally, they designed the security system of the park to only work if the main power grid is on. The most major of these flaws is the limited knowledge they had on dinosaurs. Before the dinosaurs were cloned, humans had limited knowledge on how dinosaurs interacted with each other and the environment. We did know, however, that they must be a highly adaptive species to be able to live on earth for over 100 million years.
I chose this quote because it tells us that killing animals happens faster than someone gathering knowledge. Next, this book relates to society because many animals in the world are becoming endangered today. An example of this is the Bonobos from the book. Also, there are many problems in the world today just like the war in Congo. Around the world there are Army’s like the one in this book, that do not care what they are shooting at or killing, even if it is a poor animal that has done nothing wrong.
You will soon realize that Elphaba is not as wicked as everyone thought she was. One of Elphaba’s passions is her relationship with the talking Animals of Oz. The Animals are capitalized with an “A” because they hold civil rights equal rights to humans. Dr. Dillamond is one of the Animals, a Goat professor with whom Elphaba grew very close. Her strong support as an activist for Animal rights speak out immediately when the message on the blackboard showed up, “Animals should be seen and not heard.” Another example to her supportive action is, when a baby Lion Cub is brought to class in a cage after Dillamond’s removal from the University.
Unfortunately, not enough people do their research before getting a new pet. This is why shelters are full of animals and why so many animals are euthanized each day. Hopefully, this will help you not make that same mistake. After reading this information you will see that size really does matter when choosing your new best friend. There are many similarities that you need to know about before choosing to get a dog of any size.
Several incidents have been reported over the past years that make people question the continued captivity of orcas. Some of these incidents include, failed pregnancies, illnesses, premature deaths and sometimes even attacks on trainers or human beings. Over the past few years aggression towards the orca trainers has increased rapidly. Many feel that this is due to the unnatural environment they have been placed in. When comparing orcas held in captivity to orcas that are able to live freely, their behaviors have vast differences.
The wild animals will always be wild even though people raised them or kept them in their house. After considering both sides of issues, I strongly believe that people can not keep exotic animals in their houses, because the wild animals has their own houses, their own family, and the can be free in the wild without being controlled. An exotic animal is a rare pet, it is a wild species not typically kept as a pet. But nowadays, people around the world keep tigers as cats and kangaroos as rabbits in edition that they will learn from keeping the animals in their houses. Austin Setzer (2012) suggests before getting an exotic critter, people can look them on the computer or in a book.
This is a very excruciate form of animal abuse, and is one of the worst known to man. Stopping animal abuse such as puppy mills will help a lot of animals in need and here are some reasons how: Refusing to buy dogs that are shipped from puppy mills. Most of those dogs that had been shipped from puppy mills would be ill with a disease. A lot of the dogs that are trapped together in a small area carry diseases and pass it on to other dogs. With no taking car of these poor dogs have no choice to have what’s coming, and to help them you would have to see the dog to get them.
They are not interacting with different members of their species, which demands competition for food and mates, relationship building, and different types of social interaction, which I believe to be important in living a “true” chimp or gorilla life. Although keeping these animals in captivity has some advantages for both species, for example, no predation, less competition for food and mates and access to heath care, as well as allowing us to learn a great deal about them, it does come with a price--that being the loss of the lifestyle that these animals were naturally meant to have. While observing the primates, I was reminded that many of the behaviors I was witnessing are very similar to our own, and we can learn so much about ourselves and our behaviors by observing them. I caught a glimpse of what a gorilla childhood is
Pets, animal performers, animals in zoos, even the animals that are being raised for slaughter are mistreated up until death. James Rachels author of “Vegetarianism and ‘The Other Weight Problem’” provides us with a look at why eating meat is morally wrong. Rachels offers many arguments as to why we should not eat meat, but none stronger than the mistreatment of the animals. Even though humans know animals are raised for slaughter we overlook it, but “readily identified with a tortured dog or horse and respond with great sensitivity”
