My long terms goals in the fashion Industry are to become a well-known and highly successful fashion designer and stylist someday. Although these are relatively difficult ones, I do not feel they are impossible to achieve through hard work and determination. A fashion designer is the person who comes up with the ideas and designs today, for the clothes that we, the consumers, will be wearing tomorrow. This alone, the power to inspire the world of fashion, would be enough to make me want to become a designer, but designing clothes is also a way of expressing yourself. Each designer is unique and thus the clothes that each create are just as unique. Although the job of a fashion designer may seem easy, there are many abilities involved in the job. These goals are also in line with my interests as I am highly artistic and fashionable. I come from a customer service/hospitality background and have always enjoyed working as well as dealing with people. However, my true passion has always been fashion. I can recall when I first had the opportunity to create my first pair of pants back home in Puerto Rico. I remember the smell of the sewing machine while it was in motion and the textures of the different fabrics. Nothing compares to the pride I felt that day when I completed these. Fashion chose me that day. To become a fashion designer, one must have a lot of creativity, imagination, fearlessness and passion. ”I am really passionate with making clothes.” (Said by Francesca Marotta in interview) People in the fashion design world must also have a strong sense of the esthetics. This is an eye for color and detail, a sense of balance and proportion, and an appreciation for beauty.
