The main reason that this project partnering appears to fail is the automatic way of thinking of the project manager who set the path of the stakeholders, but then interrupts monitoring the team, not checking if the group is still working under the agreed conditions and guidelines. Frequent reviews and status updates are part of the best practices that are helpful in every outsourced project partnership.¹ The challenge of managing teams and virtual teams is that activities that are dependents on other groups need always to be tracked and checked in order to complete the task without major delays. A decision is a choice between two or more alternatives. When an individual has a choice, decision making can be time consuming but may not require critical thinking. When thinking critically, the individual will consider all possibilities of the matter and its resolution, including how the decision may affect others involved. Applying critical thinking in the workplace expands the thought process opening the mind to develop ideas, make more acceptable decisions, and lesser mistakes.

An integrative project management process is meant to coordinate a project plan’s development, execution and to control changes (Marchewka, 2012). It is the combination of all the process and activities involved in identifying, describing, merging, fitting together and coordinating the many processes in project management. This is important because it helps the project to be completed successfully by making sure all the processes are integrated and so that performance is maximized throughout the entire cycle of the project.
