Introduction The article “Project Manager Skill Development: A Survey of Programs and Practitioners“ addresses the today’s situation of project management education. The current project management training programs are mostly offered as graduate and certificate programs. In addition there are few organizational programs. Several surveys came to the conclusion that graduate and certificate project management training programs have met recommended project knowledge areas. However, further conclusions are that less than half of the organizations in the survey have not had any type of project management training programs and only a minority of project managers have felt that they are well trained by their organizations. Remarkable is that 73% of those project managers who had been trained by organizational programs felt the training turned out to prepare excellently for the role of a project manager.
