I advise Lois to join a local professional organisation. By keeping up to date Lois can improve her skills and knowledge so she can do a better job. I advise Lois to go to all the conferences, meeting and other community events held. I also advise her to keep a copy of the quality improvement and accreditation handbook, she should read the section which describes the behaviour of a good carer in high quality children’s service.
-she should know where the nearest medical centre is.
Working in the Bankstown area I think Lois might find it useful to join the Bankstown community resource group Inc (BCRG) it is a community based and managed organisation. BCRG resources needs of the community; provides training; holds conferences, exhibition, meetings and other community events. Operates as a advocacy and lobbying service
Other professional organisations that I would suggest Lois might like to be part of would be:
