Distracted Driver: Do Distractions Affect Driving Video Game Scores? RESEARCH PAPER Chase Coffey Mr. Matisco / 7th Period September 17, 2012 Why this project will be useful: You read it everywhere, see it on the news… cell phone use and driving an automobile do not mix. People are dying on our roadways all because they simply cannot drive from one place to another without using their phone during the commute. By using a video game such as Mario Kart on the Wii, a game that most school children love, a deeper interest into this subject will most likely be attained. Research: There are many websites that discuss driver inattention which is defined as a driver being drowsy, engaging in secondary tasks (such as talking on a cell phone), not paying attention to the road ahead, and looking away from the road.
Kaylea Maskel March 2, 20121 English 101 Michelle Bush Literary Analysis In Amy Goldwasser’s writing “what’s the matter with kids today?” She argues the mass media view on kids and the internet and technology however she agrees that nothing is actually the matter with kids today. Goldwasser states that once adults and any other critics stop treating the internet as a villain, we all can accept it. Teenagers today read and write for fun, spending nearly 16.7 hours a week online (Goldwasser 237). More than 33 million Americans are affluent in texting, emailing, blogging, and IMing, INCLUDING OLDER AMERICANS. In Goldwasser’s eyes “teenagers have the potential to become the next great voices of America.” Before the written works even begin, there is a bolded response answering the title, “What’s the Matter with Kids Today?” Goldwasser’s response is as follows: Nothing, actually.
The first behavior that I will seriously work on is procrastination. This behavior falls under the managerial skills of problem solving and decision making. Procrastination is a habit of needlessly putting off relevant activities until another day or time. Procrastination is a behavior that I really need to change. I am Problem Solving PROBLEN SOLVING and DECISION MAKING Making a choice between a specific behavior that I would change would be a rather easy decision.

Not all of Mr. Danby’s logos based statements are as malicious as his introductory ones. He starts to take a softer approach to his thought in order sway people’s minds better. For example Mr. Denby states “At actual schools, there is no unitary system of status” a reasonable claim that any person who attended high school in the last 50 years can believe. He furthers the readers trust in his thought, by giving them believable examples ; Using commonly known western heroes such as Marlon Brando, to portray the sharp contrasts between the old and the new teen movies. Comparing Brando’s early rebellion against authority to any average teenager’s quarrel with life itself.
UCOR 101 Thinking and Writing made me come to the realization that writing papers for college is completely different than writing for high school level classes. Throughout high school the effort I put forth was not near the amount of effort that is required for college classes. I would write a paper the night before it was due and hand it in and get a good grade without any negative comments from my teachers. Unfortunately I carried this bad habit over into college. My UCOR 101 teacher scrutinized the first paper that I wrote and he could tell it was written the night before and even referred to it as a high school paper.
* Attendance * I have to call roll for the first couple of days for administrative purposes, but I will not take formal attendance. * You’re adults and you can make your own decisions about coming to class; plus I get that things happen sometimes. * Just know that you should try to be in class as much as possible because: * You will miss notes and about 70% of the exams come from lecture * You also risk missing exercises/daily work, which cannot be made up * Blackboard * Syllabus, handouts, exam reviews, study materials, and your grades will be posted here * Note, Blackboard Grades tries to give a calculated total, but this is inaccurate because I have to drop grades * Everyone familiar with how BB works? Learners come to education with bits of specific former knowledge and skill related to the field at hand. In Norman's (1982) terms, three overlapping stages of learning are then distinguishable: the accretion of new information, and its chunking, elaboration, and connection to existing knowledge; its restructuring, through which new knowledge organizations are formed, usually to replace or reformulate old concepts and relations; and, finally, the tuning or adaptation and practice of knowledge structures in particular uses. In Anderson's (1985) skill development theory, the parallel phases are declarative knowledge acquisition, compilation or proceduralization, and automatization. Achieving the desired end states equips learners to think and

Finally, he suggests that smaller discussion classes are supposed to be given during the first two years of college, when students need close and respective instruction, to improve their intelligent listening and creative thinking skills. My reaction toward this essay is that I am partly convinced of Daniels’ opinion. However, my personal experience shows that small discussion classes are all not good for students. Even if small classes are effective or not depends on how the professors guide. For instance, One of my classes is exact a small discussion class.
