Prepared by Justin Thyme, Private Consultant As requested by Mr. Tom Coffee, a review of the current management structure of Tom’s Coffee Cup was performed. This report encapsulates a number of issues that are currently impacting his business, with particular attention focused on the cause and effect of Mr. Cheet's recent managerial decisions and the consequences felt by the employees and customers. The first section will focus on the administrative decisions of Mr. Cheet and the impact they’ve had on the planning, organizing and leading functions of the business. Also examined are the rules that Mr. Cheet created and their aftereffects on the employees and customers. The last section will provide recommendations for improvements to the managerial structure to establish better customer service and employee satisfaction. Review of Managerial Decisions and Impact An inquiry of the administrative decisions of Mr. Cheet and the effects of his decisions affecting the organization was conducted. The sections below will discuss the issues discovered, their correlation to Mr.Coffee's business structure, and the overall effect they have had on his company. Planning Within the context of the planning framework connected to the business, Mr. Cheet made many decisions that were counterproductive to the mission and vision statements instituted by his employer. First reviewed was Mr. Cheet’s decision to change the company’s supplier to one of his choosing. This change, while cost saving, dramatically reduced the quality of the products available to the customers. This change caused a great displeasure among regular customers and contributed to the loss in profits. Mr. Cheet also reduced the portion size of the products available for sale, while increasing the sale price of those same items.
