LeShonda Arceneaux UNV-108 July 14, 2013 Biba John Principles of Education A college degree is very important to me. It will give me a valuable education that can never be taking away. A college degree will require hard work and dedication. I will accept the support from the people in my life, as well as my GCU community, to help me stay on track. Once I obtain a degree in Education, I will become a teacher which will give me the feeling of accomplishment because of the knowledge I have gained. Today’s job market is very competitive. Employers are looking for candidates with higher education. Without a college degree, I have been turned down for jobs on several occasions. This is how I have become to respect the value of a college degree. A college degree will help me to accomplish my goals and provide for my family. Since I have started classes at GCU, I have become more focused. I am very motivated by GCU’s mission statement. With GCU’s commitment to my success, I cannot see myself failing. GCU strives to communicate effectively with their students. This will allow me to be a better learner by using critical thinking skills and constantly being challenged. Higher education opens many doors. Its purpose is to prepare students with the education needed for a successful life. Not only does it allow you to have a steady income, it helps a student to become a more rounded person. Also, higher education teaches one discipline while building character. I have found all of this to be true at GCU and I am looking forward to my journey in obtaining a college degree.
