It is used in case studies, when opinions of different persons need to be gathered (Huber & Warring, 2010). Experimentation Experimentation is the method in which evidence of the data is gathered through various sources. It includes the nature of research question This method is used when decisions need to be taken. It is used to gather evidences about the research questions (Groz, & Hierons, 2004). Encoding In this method, researcher translates the information gathered from diversified people into own understandable language.
An activity can have more than one cost driver attached to it. For example, a production activity may have the following associated cost-drivers: a machine, machine operator(s), floor space occupied, power consumed, and the quantity of waste and/or rejected output. (BusinessDictionary.com, 2013)" I think the company would do better with Activity Based Costing (ABC) because this allocation method is more accurate because it takes all cost related factors into consideration. The first way the company was allocating department costs was and even three way split, which was undercutting Fabricating, which needs more funds, and this method was overcompensating Laminating and Assembling, which require less. With the ABC Method, the costs are factored by the different cost drivers, such as machinery, staff, number of parts needed, amount of products made, as well as direct material costs and direct labor hours.
The IT allows us to process a greater level of work in a shorter period of time, which leads to business being more efficient and productive. When using IT for completing administrations tasks it allows us to correct and amend documents efficiently with no need to start the document from the scratch. It also allows us to change layout and look of document right away. One of the benefits of information technology is also the capability to store a large amount of information. Section 2 – Understand how to manage electronic and paper-based information 1.
Linda Potter A Personalised Induction Will Always Be More Effective Discuss This essay will explore the statement in the title that a personalised induction will always be more effective when used in the context of a Hypnotherapy session between Therapist and client. I will explore within this essay my own personal belief that personalising an induction is vitally important for the client. My reason for this belief is that I believe each person is unique and different in their own way. Therefore it is imperative to treat each person in an holistic or all round way. I will also discuss modalities, or the process that occurs when the brain receives information from our senses and how this represents itself internally.
Learning Team C Research Survey In the world of research and evaluation, the process of thinking, decision-making, and analysis are a few of the steps needed to be successful when finding a result or outcome. In regard to thinking and analysis, an effective way to develop data is to use peer conducted surveys. Surveys are a beneficial tool in gathering information based on participant’s opinions given specific or broadening questions related to a topic. Surveys make ease in collecting data because the format of questions and answers is flexible allowing the researcher to broaden or narrow the findings. Surveys require several understandings; the most basic is the level of measurement found in the survey.
Rationale and uses of focus groups Focus groups are a form of group interview that capitalises on communication between research participants in order to generate data. Although group interviews are often used simply as a quick and convenient way to collect data from several people simultaneously, focus groups explicitly use group interaction as part of the method. This means that instead of the researcher asking each person to respond to a question in turn, people are encouraged to talk to one another: asking questions, exchanging anecdotes and commenting on each other's experiences and points of view.1 The method is particularly useful for exploring people's knowledge and experiences and can be used to examine not only what people think but how they think and why they think that way. Focus groups were originally used within communication studies to explore the effects of films and television programmes,2 and are a popular method for assessing health education messages and examining public understandings of illness and of health behaviours.3 4 5 6 7 They are widely used to examine people's experiences of disease and of health services.8 9 and are an effective technique for exploring the attitudes and needs of staff.10 11 The idea behind the focus group method is that group processes can help people to explore and clarify their views in ways that would be less easily accessible in a one to one interview. Group discussion is particularly appropriate when the interviewer has a series of open ended questions and wishes to encourage research participants to explore the issues of importance to them, in their own vocabulary, generating their own questions and pursuing their own priorities.
A number of recent changes have been introduced to reduce delays. Examples of changes that reduce delays in civil cases include increase use of alternative dispute resolution, having the cases resolved outside of court frees up the court’s time and resources to hear contested cases. As in criminal cases recent changes include time limits on criminal procedure, simplifying criminal procedure and sentence indication. In civil cases delays could be reduce if changes such as introducing e-discovery. This can reduce delays since documents can be exchanged and lodged electronically which will speed up the discovery stage in civil pre-trail procedures.
The data include interview transcripts, fieldnotes, photographs, videotapes, personal documents, memos, and official records. Qualitative researchers are also concerned with process rather than simply with outcomes /product. Hence, data analysis in qualitative research tends to be ongoing, and inductive in nature. New/follow-up data may be collected at any point until the researcher decides that he has sufficient data to make interpretations about the phenomena being studied. Meaning is also essential to qualitative researchers who are interested in how different people make sense of their lives.
The interview is a fairly flexible tool that can be applied in different ways in the study of different social groups and issues. Interpretivist sociologists who use informal interviews because of the greater validity of the data they create. This results from the more open-ended style of interviewing involved. The greater trust created may allow research into sensitive subjects, generating more honest responses. Respondents are given the opportunity to reply in their own words, expressing their feelings and attitudes in ways which are meaningful to them, rather than being forced to use the researcher’s categories. The validity of the data also increases through the flexibility of informal interviewing, leads can be followed up and the respondent can take the interview in the direction they want.
Uncertainty in response rates and high probability of double entries which will introduce high significant error in the sampling and subsequently impair the quality of data. • Subjectivity in the Interview. These will be mitigated by well-organized questionnaire and the inherent subjectivity or Biasness can be mitigated by well –structured training for the data collectors and respondent by using a standardized interview protocol. In addition, technology and solid program can be used to mitigate this. Examples of such are computer-assisted survey information collection (CASIC) which brings onboard higher data quality , privacy of the respondent and error elimination during data processing.
