Good Grades Pressure is a common factor in the life of a hardworking and aspiring student. Pressure to get good grades affects a large number of students regardless of the cause and every student has felt some type of pressure that challenges them to do better and aim for the best results. Continuous pressure has its benefits but it also has its consequences. The causes and effects of pressure have a variety of outcomes on a student who is working hard to get good grades. One way or another. Many parents wonder what might cause their children such pressure during the process of studying and preparing academically for their futures. Ambition is a cause of pressure that encourages students and challenges them to strive for the best. As we know, ambition can be a positive type of pressure that is healthy for a student because it serves as an encouragement to place effort in the process of receiving an education. On the contrary, there are types of pressures that are negative and result in stress, anxiety and other psychological disorders. What causes such negative stress could be a parent’s expectation of their student to get a grade higher than an “A” and maintain a grade point average of 3.5 or higher. This usually applies to strict parents as their children are forced to put effort into their learning in order to be rewarded or approved of. College acceptance and scholarships play an important role in causing students pressure. Many dream of maintaining outstanding grades to receive a full ride scholarship or get accepted to the university of their dreams.
