Precautions before Exercising Exercising is a great activity to further strengthen your immune system, to lose fat, and to lose blood sugar, but there are some precautions to take before you exercise. I. If you have sickness or disease First things first, consult first your doctor for the right exercise program for you. II. Do not exercise intensely after eating Wait for at least two hours, eating increases the blood flow requirements of the intestinal tract. During vigorous exercises, the demand of the muscles for blood may exceed the ability of the circulation to supply both the bowel and the muscles, depriving organs of blood, resulting in cramps, nausea, or faintness. II. Exercise only when feeling well If you feel there’s something wrong with your body like: over fatigue, flu-like symptoms, fever, cold and any other diseases, wait for the symptoms to heal and have been gone for 2 days before exercising. III. Keep a close eye for the weather and temperature The weather plays a vital role before you exercise. The sudden changes in weather can affect your health and resistance. Keep a close eye for the temperature, if the air temperature is greater than 70oF or 21oC, exercise slowly, be alert for heat-related injuries, and drink plenty of water because you will tend to lose more liquid in your body. In some cases wherein the temperature is greater than 80oF or 26oC, exercise in the early morning or late afternoon to avoid heat, and obviously never exercise outdoors if it is raining. Exercise is at its best if the humidity is low and a breeze is present. IV. Wear Proper Clothing Wear loose-fitting dresses, comfortable clothes made of absorbent material appropriate for the weather. If the weather is cold, use sweat suits, never wear something that is not absorbent and is made of rubber material. If ever you’re in direct sunlight, wear light colored
