Those who support a traditional classroom approach to learning argue that it provides more of an opportunity for students to interact with the teacher and other students. Those who feel that learning over the Internet is better argue that it allows students to learn anytime and anywhere they choose. Do you feel education is better provided in traditional classrooms or when offered over the Internet? Write an essay to be read by a classroom teacher in which you persuade the reader that either traditional classroom education or Internet-based learning is better. With advancements in technology, some students have chosen to complete their schoolwork through the Internet, rather than in traditional classrooms.

In the argument “Tapping into Text Messaging” by Janet Kornblum, says teens, techies and other early adopters leading the charge to text say it is a great way to communicate when they are too busy to talk or when making a call would be rude or impractical. Just like being in the class room when there is an important incoming call, texting back is a more necessary way to get back to the person instead of disrupting the class and wasting learning time. Texting only takes a few seconds to do and could turn a 10 minute phone conversation into a 1 minute conversation. Text messaging can easily be discreet while being in the class room if turned off or on silent. As long as the student remembers to do so, their phone will not cause a distraction in class.

An article called “State line (Changes in Public Education),written by Chris Pipho, talks about how reform of mathematical curricula for schools can be a good change for the school systems. Change in the school district budgets can be good for many students too. Students can receive better textbooks, meaning students will be able to get new and improved ideas and learning strategies from their math curricula. The state doesn’t mind funding the school districts because with new and better school supplies knowing it will help better students, and teachers as well, the teachers will also feel better about teaching student the math lesson, with better curricula from the
For instance, E-books are available to students the moment they’re purchased and don’t involve any shipping and handling. E-books diminish the conflict between B&N College bookstore and McGraw-Hill because; orders wouldn’t have to be placed before the semester begins, which is one of the reasons for errors in textbook orders. Printable textbooks would also be a great solution to the conflict because the student or bookstore would print the textbooks the day they’re purchased. Orders wouldn’t have to be made ahead of time, which would result in B&N College bookstore knowing the exact amount of books needed. Additionally, students can purchase textbook CD-ROMs from the bookstore.
Literacy Service Learning Project Kellen Brooks Brandon McHale Mr. Schoenbauer I am doing a literacy service learning project in school to help promote world literacy. I have chosen to help out my local library by saving them the trouble to categorize books for them. Brandon and I are partners for this project and we are hoping it will benefit our library by helping them out. I believe if all of our library books are categorized correctly it will allow people to find their books quickly and more efficiently resulting in the more books being read which will then result in worldwide literacy. The first day of our literacy service learning project we had to choose who we wanted to work with on this project.

The internet can also give teachers a chance to post websites that will give students their grades, homework, study guides, and necessary information for the particular class. Smart boards are also very useful tools which give the teacher multiple ways to share their information. They are great for demonstrations, can accommodate different learning styles, and gives internet uses if computers are limited. Although the expand of technology in the past couple years is very beneficial and time saving, there are also some concerns I have about the growth.
