I am sure Aldous Huxley’s “Brave New World” raised some eyebrows back in the thirties when it was first published. It is a science fiction novel set 600 years in the future. It is about a world that no longer consists of families, babies are engineered in test tubes, taking a drug known as Soma to put your mind on holiday is an everyday relaxation method, sexually promiscuous behavior is not only expected, but taught to them as children and being always happy, clean and healthy is normal. I have never read anything else written by Aldous Huxley, I in fact have never read much science fiction at all in which to compare this story to. I have seen lots of science fiction movies so I decided to watch a couple of different movies based on this book.
Castaway Movie Essay The movie castaway is set in 1986 when a man named Chuck Noland is in route to Malaysia an his plane crashes. Chuck is the only one that survived in the crash and is now faced with a scarcity amount of materials, food and people on the island that he washed ashore on. There are many instances where opportunity cost comes in to play where he must have to choose something and face another. In his journey on the island he is forced to diminish between the things that he needs to stay alive and the things that he wants. Chucks time on the island was very difficult for him to survive and along the way he was came across an insane amount of decisions that put him on the line of life and death.

In Joseph Conrad’s early life his unique parents died while he was young, he lived with his uncle Thaddeus and attended some unique schooling.
The story is told by a young captain that is nameless all throughout the story. The captain was skeptical about playing such an authoritative role as captain because he really did not even know his crew. He met his crew fourteen days before that so he was unsure about them. He is lacking confidence in his position as captain. This is the Captains first job as the captain of a ship and he feels like he does not belong on his own ship, "my position was that of the only stranger on board...I was somewhat a stranger to myself (Conrad).

David is a 12 years old boy who escapes the Bulgarian Labor Camp and starts his adventure by traveling North with holding along a compass , a small knife , half a loaf of bread ,till he reaches Denmark, where he should deliver a very important letter. He has lived all his life in that prison, so when he stepped out to the world he was clueless of what was waiting for him and how he is able to reach Denmark. Due to the harsh life David lived, this boy ha repressed feelings, he didn’t trust anyone, felt lonely and disoriented in the world. During his time alone along the journey, he keeps on getting flashbacks of moments he passed through.
The movies don’t even come close to how the books portray the characters vividly. Besides, when a book is made into a film, there are often changes to the original story. The original story is prone to being shortened or simplified because the film version can only last two or three hours at most. These could make fans of the original novel feel the movie has turned out to be nothing like the book. Take the most popular new romance novel, Twilight, for example.
