Alfonso Frausto Ms. Mendez English 11B 24 October 2010 A General History of Virginia & Pocahontas: Compare/Contrast This journey begins with a man, an explorer named John Smith, who was basically from England who wanted to sail the seas to conquer land for his people in the “New World”. Well he was a hard worker in his crew, well that’s what the people say, besides that, the time was bad because supposedly there were 214 or 215 people on board and only 60 of them ever made it to land. Which people back then and maybe now called it Jamestown, now Jamestown was a fort-like place were food for the crew were bad like expired meat, or 6 day old beans, let’s just say it wasn’t heaven. Except for the captain or the head ranks because they got the good food such as fresh meat, spices, few minute made soup or everything that isn’t fungi attacked. Now John Smith was not just a regular man who didn’t help his crew but also a writer of his own journey and adventure, so he embarks on a mystery land with a Native Americans, which he does not know about. The differences between the fiction Pocahontas and non-fiction Pocahontas is that, she was not young at all; the real Pocahontas was about 12 between 13 years old, which is pretty young compared to the fictional Pocahontas. In the movie she looks like between 18 and 21 years old and too make it more weird, John Smith is about 20 and 23 years old, which in real life, he is actually like 28 and over. It was a relationship gone nasty, but Pocahontas was all friends with the animals in the movie, because in real life, I highly doubt that Pocahontas can have friends that are animals and not be attacked at. She has a pet or buddy named “Meeko”, which is a raccoon, believe me I do not think Pocahontas did not have pet like “Meeko” because if she was going to have a pet like a raccoon, I would like at least for
