Margaret Sanger was born in Corning, New York, on September 14th 1883. According to her biography she was the sixth of eleven children. Her mother also had seven more babies that died in that childhood, before dying of cervical cancer. After Margaret moved to Saranac for health reasons she gave birth to three children. She now became a mother, an American sex educator, a nurse, and a birth control activist who opened the first birth control clinic in the united states, located in Brownsville, Brooklyn in 1916. Ever since Planned Parenthood has opened it has been an expanding success all over the world. Planned Parenthood is the nation’s leading sexual and reproductive health care provider and advocate. Planned Parenthood provides a wide range of safe, reliable health care and preventive, primary care, which helps prevent unintended pregnancies through contraception, reduce the spread of sexually transmitted infections through testing and treatment, and screen for cervical and other cancers. Planned Parenthood is also a respected leader in educating many Americans about reproductive and sexual health. Planned Parenthood as we all know , isn’t just an abortion provider. Planned Parenthood is also a great provider of family planning services. More specifically, Planned Parenthood caters its family planning services to two target populations; low income individuals and to people who are seeking confidential services. The majority of people who are seeking confidential services are teens who don’t want there parents to know about there “secret sex life” For many years now there are controversies that surround Planned Parenthood. People still go on to make there opinions about if money should or should not go to Planned Parenthood because money is not fungible and can be redirected to support abortion.
