Places of a Lifetime Have you ever thought about the places you would like to go during your life time? I am going to write about ten wonderful and spectacular places that I someday dream of going to. I will be going to four of the seven continents and seeing these wonderful sights. We will first go to the country of India. Built four centuries ago by a grieving emperor, the Taj Mahal is one of India’s most recognizable symbols. It was built as a monument to beauty and life as a mausoleum for the emperor’s dead wife. The stunning details of flowers and jeweled designs are hand-carved into the white marble. The white marble turns from white to gold to pink to blue as the sun sets. You can just close your eyes and see the beautiful colors. How the emperor must have loved his wife. The Taj Mahal took 20 years to complete and cost 30 million dollars in today’s money. I have seen some beautiful pictures of the Taj Mahal, but they say that photographs can never convey the mood of love and serenity that inspired it. One man was asked how often he came to the Taj Mahal; his reply, “I come at least once a week, because it makes me feel better about my life.” After all these years, the Taj Mahal still has the power of love and hope for which it was built The Taj Mahal was made by man, the Great Barrier Reef is made from nature. Located off the coast of Australia, The Great Barrier Reef is truly a gift of nature and one of the ten most popular diving sites in the world. Picture aqua blue waters and miles of different coral, set together in little gardens with the most amazing fish you will ever see and you are at the Great Barrier Reef. Larger than the Great Wall of China, it is the only natural wonder visible from space. The Great Barrier Reef is made up of over 2,900 individual reefs with 900 islands stretching over 2,600 kilometers. The reef is home to over 1,000
