Pizza Hut SWOT Analysis Morgan Clauss Pizza Hut is a part of Yum! Brands. Pizza Hut itself was founded 55 years ago in Wichita, Kansas (Pizza Hut, 2014). Today there are over 13,000 Pizza Hut locations in the world. The restaurant is best known for their pizzas, coming in hand tossed, thin, or pan crust. They also offer various pastas, sides, and wings. Pizza Hut is available for home delivery, dine in, or even at express locations that can be found in shopping centers. Pizza Hut’s mission statement is “We take pride in making a perfect pizza and providing courteous and helpful service on time all the time. Every customer says, "I'll be back!"” (About Us, 2014). The strengths of Pizza Hut are what is has to offer. You can order pizza, wings, breadsticks, pasta, salad, soda, and other items. Pizza Hut has many dine in locations that are complete with a salad bar, the option to carry out, or have your pizza delivered. Most other national pizza chains only offer carryout/ delivery or just carryout. At Pizza Hut families can choose to enjoy a sit down meal in store or enjoy their food that is fresh and affordable in the comfort of their homes. Another strength of Pizza Hut is that is able to offer high quality food items for a reasonable price. Since the era of $10 pizzas began a few years ago, it is hard for other competitors to consistently match this special deal. With other specials throughout the week, such as Tuscany Pastas on special on Tuesdays and Wing-It Wednesdays and Thursdays, it is hard to not get a deal on your meal at The Hut. One weakness of Pizza Hut is that they are always trying to reinvent pizza, but never actually doing so. Unique promotional items come and go, but very few are around for the long haul. The pizza you order from Pizza Hut today is very similar to what you would have ordered a year or two ago.
